S02E05 Chris Jochnick on Business, Human Rights and Taxation
Chris Jochnick is the Director of the Private Sector Department at Oxfam America. He has worked for two decades on issues of human rights, development and corporate accountability. Chris had earlier co-founded and led two human rights organizations, CESR (NY) and CDES (Ecuador). He has been an attorney with a Wall Street law firm and has been a MacArthur Foundation fellow. He also teaches a course on business and human rights at Harvard Law School. Chris spoke from Washington with IHRB's senior advisor Salil Tripathi about Oxfam's new campaign targeting inequality. Focusing on tax dodging by large corporations, the campaign seeks to build public opinion and encourage government action to ensure that companies pay their taxes properly, so that countries where Oxfam works have the resources they need to address poverty and inequality.
