The viral TikTok trend We Listen, We Don’t Judge has taken over social media, encouraging people to share personal confessions while the listener reacts without judgment. But when it comes to domestic violence, is listening without judgment always the right approach?
In this episode of Voices Against Violence, we explore how this trend, while well-intentioned, could be harmful when used in the wrong context. Survivors need to be heard—but they also need accountability, action, and safety. When does "not judging" cross the line into ignoring red flags or excusing harmful behavior? And how can we foster real support for survivors instead of silence?
Update 1/31/2025 - This episode of Voices Against Violence we prerecorded prior to the events of this week. We want to acknowledge the aviation tragedy that happened Wednesday night in Washington D.C and give our deepest condolences to those impacted.
