Waar Melvin Platje komt, is de lach nooit ver weg. De oud-spits van onder meer FC Volendam, N.E.C., VVV-Venlo, Telstar en De Graafschap verwierf gedurende zijn carrière de status als cultspits. En in Indonesië kwam de man uit Bussum helemaal tot bloei. Hij werd er kampioen en had er in zijn villa's de tijd van zijn leven. Nu is Platje al even terug in Nederland en wacht langzaam het leven na het profvoetbal. Hij wil zaakwaarnemer worden, begint zaterdag met zijn voetbalschool MP7 en voetbalt nog steeds in de Tweede Divisie bij AFC.
