Decent citizens respect justice, and the ones who makethe world a better place, because they protect and defend what is right and just. It used to be back in the day that when a child would complain about an adult being inappropriate, the viewpoint was not to believe a child, and that children live in their own make-believe world. How horrifying that must have been for children who were victimized.   Not only that, but the old-fashioned mentality was that the educator is always right. It had gotten to the point where children knew that they might as well keep quiet about inappropriateness perpetrated against them. Oftentimes, these children went through life bearing the pain of their abuse.   In fact, there are adults today who say that when theywere growing up how it was known in specific schools who the perpetrating educator was, and these children knew to watch out for that person.   Fast forward several years later when the people became savvier, and actually uttered the words, “sexual abuse” if their child was victimized. These parents would scream and try to bring the perpetrator to justice. But, for those who followed the renowned stories, we know that things did not go well for those families, and not only was justice never served, but the family was ostracized for daring to accuse a so-called respectable person of abusing their child.   Well, we have come a long way since then, because aneducator of children said enough is enough, and risking his own self and family, he started going after perpetrators and calling them out.   Rabbi Yakov Horowitz who conducts child abuse prevention and parenting workshops eloquently explains the situation and how to combat this issue. Dov is an Orthodox Jew, American politician,activist, and radio talk show host. In tribute to Sheldon Adelson, A'H, the billionaire who cared about Israel and the Jews, with Jonathan Tobin, award winning journalist and editor-in-chief of JNS. Sheldon was a billionaire on the Forbe’s list of the world’s wealthiest people, and also one of the most prolific donors in conservative politics. This past week was his Yahrzeit. We memorialize what he has done for the United States and Israel. In fact, he was one of the first super-wealthy Americans to take advantage of the Supreme Court's Citizens United Ruling, which has created the open door to 8 and 9 figure political donations so long as the money does not go to candidates or party committees, but rather to independent Super Pacs. For Sheldon it was not about how he made his money, but the manner in which he gave so much of it away. Together with his lovely wide, Miriam, they built an empire of charity and goodwill to benefit people throughout the world. When Sheldon left this world on January 11 2021, it was a loss to all. Sheldon Adelson's life was not just about what he did, but he set the standard for other Jews to follow in his footsteps. Today’s guest, Meriel Schindler, is the author of the critically acclaimed book, The Lost Café Schindler: One Family, Two Wars, And The Search for Truth. Café Schindler was built by her uncles Hugo and Erich in the early 1900’s, and was considered the place to be in Innsbruck Austria - Where they served the best pastries and featured the most talented musicians for dance nights. The café, though under a new family ownership, is still operating today. This book, however, is not about a café, but about family history, Nazi plundering of Jewish businesses and property, attempts at reclamation, and a search for truth and closure years after the war. Our guest discovered her fathers’ papers in 2017 which served as a link to his family back in Austria going back to the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, including family members who served in the Austrian military during WW1. Meriel discovers that her great uncle Edward Bloch was an incredible medical doctor who took care of everyone - rich and poor, and any time of day or night. Meriel Schindler tells of her uncle Edward being given special “protection” during the Nazi onslaught of Austria, because during the early 1900’s Dr. Bloch treated Hitler’s mother for breast cancer, and treated young Adolf himself.There were a lot of lessons from this book, which showed that even Jews who were fully assimilated with their non-Jewish neighbors were not spared from the Nuremburg Laws or Nazi-inspired antisemitism.  Interview with former Montreal Councilman and current Canadian Bnai Brith leader, Marvin Rotrand, to discuss antisemitic Palestinianist activism at the University of Toronto and the Toronto school System. On the University of Toronto Campus, The Student Union of Toronto at Scarborough passed a resolution in support of BDS, calling on the University to sever all ties with ANY organization they deem supports the state of Israel. This included ending Kosher catering for the University’s Jewish students. In May of 2021, Jewish students at the U of T Medical school filed a complaint alleging defamatory and libelous comments directed at them from fellow medical students and faculty. Last week, The Supreme Court heard the Mississippi case of Dobbs V. Jackson where the state is looking to restrict abortions after 15 weeks. Will their decision overturn Roe v Wade? Were the Justices questions about advocacy, or the law? Is adoption a viable and reasonable alternative to abortion? Professor Rosenbaum addressed the questions raised by the Justices including Justice Sotomayor who compared the “response to touch” by an unborn baby, to an adult in a vegetative state. During the conversation, He explained the relevance of Justice Comey-Barrett asking the lawyer representing the Jackson Women's Health Organization, if offering “adoption” was a viable solution to abortion since at the time of Roe V. Wade, it was not. Wealso delved into the Rittenhouse trial and verdict as he was found NOT guilty in a court of law, but was found EXTREMELY GUILTY by the media and left-wing mobs, who, while decrying so-called “vigilante justice,” were demanding “social justice” which doesn’t require a trial. Their only criteria is race and if a firearm was used.  Also discussed during the interview was the recent high-school shooting in Oxford Michigan by Ethan Crumbley, and why his parents could now be charged with involuntary manslaughter.
