It launched the public careers of Stephen Miller and Richard Spencer. It woke up an entire generation to anti-white hatred on college campuses. It showed how quickly American norms surrounding justice and the legal process were falling before the onslaught of an egalitarian moral crusade. The case of supposedly "privileged" white Lacrosse players at Duke and a black stripper riveted the nation, and we are still living with the consequences. However, the depressing reality is that decades later, few lessons have been learned.
