Playwright and actor Jessie Jones, known for her work on Murphy Brown, Night Court, and Melrose Place, has passed away at 75. Co-founder of Jones Hope Wooten, she created hit Southern comedies like The Sweet Delilah Swim Club. Born in Texas, she started in Austin theater, then moved to New York and Hollywood. Post-2005, she returned to plays, co-writing Dearly Departed, which became the film Kingdom Come. She leaves behind family and requests donations to Planned Parenthood in her name.
