Grunion are spawning along Southern California coast, including Santa Monica Beach, from March 18-21. These small fish leap onto sand to lay eggs. Prime viewing areas in LA County include Malibu Cove, Santa Monica Beach, Redondo, Torrance, San Pedro, and Cherry Beach in Long Beach. Further south, try Seal Beach, Huntington State Beach, and Carlsbad State Beach. The second hour of each run often brings more fish, so hang in there.
