Zhengxuan Hu, a 28-year-old Chinese national, was sentenced to two years in prison for orchestrating a counterfeit Apple device scam. He and his team swapped fake iPhones and iPads for genuine ones at LA stores, causing Apple a loss of $16.2 million. Hu pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges and was ordered to pay restitution. Five others involved in the scheme have also pleaded guilty, while the alleged ringleader, Wenhui Huang, is due in court on March 27th.
