Show Notes
Butch Bagabuyo, a former Kamloops lawyer, is serving a life sentence for murdering his client, Mohd Abdullah, and embezzling nearly $800,000. Bagabuyo helped Abdullah hide the money during their 2016 separation, but later spent it on personal expenses. In 2022, he stabbed Abdullah to death and hid his body in a storage container. The case exposed serious professional misconduct, including forged documents and bad immigration advice. The Law Society of British Columbia is still investigating Bagabuyo for unethical conduct, and he wont be eligible for parole until 2051. This shocking betrayal of trust serves as a stark reminder of the risks in legal dealings.
