A new healing center, funded by the federal government, is being constructed near the Tkemlúps te Secwépemc reserve in Kamloops, British Columbia. This center, designed in a traditional roundhouse style, will provide day programs and services for residential school survivors dealing with trauma. It will include spaces for preserving food and cultivating medicinal plants, supporting cultural practices. The center aims to address intergenerational wounds from residential schools through holistic care and is expected to open this fall.
