A British Columbia developer is suing the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Vancouver over a broken land deal for a seniors home. The developer, numbered company eleven seventy-six seven five five B.C. Limited, claims it signed a contract in 2019 to buy a 2.8 hectare parcel next to Holy Family Parish in Sechelt for $3.7 million. Despite getting all required approvals by the deadline, the archdiocese attempted to cancel the deal in late 2024, citing project design issues. The developer argues the sites unique location and size make it hard to find a replacement. The case is now in B.C. Supreme Court.
