Over 67,000 Guns Registered for Canadas Buyback Program
The Canadian governments gun buyback program has seen over 67,000 firearms registered, falling short of the projected 136,000. The program, which began in mid-January, saw nearly 38,000 unique owners register their weapons, with over 2,500 makes and models prohibited by the Liberals since 2020. The registration period ended this week, and the assessment phase for each gun is now underway. Collections will begin late this spring and continue into early fall of 2026.
