Tenzin Kelsang, a Camas senior, has been named All-Region boys swimmer of the year. He achieved this after a remarkable winter season, becoming the first Clark County athlete to reach the podium at the four A state championships, finishing sixth in the one hundred yard breaststroke. Kelsangs journey in swimming began at age three, primarily for safety reasons, and he honed his skills over fifteen years. He recently focused on both breaststroke and freestyle, leading to his victory in the one hundred freestyle at districts. Kelsangs success is partly due to his strong bond with his senior teammates, who have trained together since age eight. Looking ahead, he plans to study biology in college and may shift his competitive swimming to the club level.
