Tragic Air Canada Express Crash at LaGuardia: Two Pilots Killed, Many Injured
Two pilots from an Air Canada Express flight lost their lives in a collision with a fire truck at LaGuardia Airport in New York. The incident occurred just before midnight on Sunday, involving a CRJ-nine-hundred operated by Jazz Aviation. The plane was coming from Montreal with seventy-two passengers and four crew members on board. The deceased pilots were Captain Antoine Forest and First Officer Mackenzie Gunther. Gunther was a graduate of Seneca Polytechnics aviation technology program and was mourned by the school. A flight attendant named Solange Tremblay survived the incident. The fire truck had been cleared to cross the runway but was urgently called to stop moments before impact. More than forty people were injured.
