Ep 170Jesse Richardson teaches Logical Fallacies

After many years arguing with people who were wrong on the internet, Jesse Richardson realized that evidence and rationality were utterly useless in the face of entrenched beliefs and motivated reasoning. What he suddenly understood with great clarity, punctuated by the tangy sting of tartar sauce, was that the root cause of almost every problem in the world was nothing so complicated as money and power, but simply that most of us are never taught how to think independently and critically. So, after several months work, he launched a little microsite that took 24 of the most common fallacies of logic that politicians, the media, and advertisers use to deceive and manipulate people and made them something that wasn't entirely boring. Specifically, he took each fallacy and condensed it down into a single simple sentence that anyone could understand, added some nice graphics, and made the microsite URL interactive so that anyone could use it to tag someone committing a fallacy online e.g. yourfallacy.is/ad-hominem The yourfallacy.is website went immediately viral, hit the front page of reddit.com and the resources have reached at least 18 million students, teachers, parents, leaders, managers and everyday people around the world in over 7 languages Jesse's Links Web: https://jesserichardson.com.au Web: https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com Web: https://www.schoolofthought.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/jesserichardson And don’t forget to support the podcast by subscribing for free, reviewing, and sharing. Ep 125Brent Clayton runs Fire Recruitment Australia

After becoming a firefighter, Brent Clayton developed a massive interest in the Fire Services Recruitment Process and Selection Processes. Since 2007, he has been working on thoroughly learning how Fire Services Recruitment works, testing ways to help people get the edge over the competition and helping many people do exactly that for services in every state of Australia. Before becoming a firefighter, he was a Prison Guard for a number of years, and in the military prior to that. All these jobs require a developed knowledge of recruitment and selection processes which he mastered over the years — being a successful applicant himself in areas where many fail.
