During a revival, his old buddy Gore appears and they are reunited. Tim is still an evangelist.</p>

<p>Tillie grows up feeling unloved and marries four different men searching for love. Each husband is wrong for her. She makes bad decisions based on emotions instead of facts and leaves them out of fear. Her first daughter is born out of wedlock but her second husband adopts the girl. Tillie has several nervous breakdowns and lives mostly on welfare, turning to her sister and husband for help from time to time. Finally, she goes home. Her oldest daughter receives Christ at 21. Seeing the joy, Tillie calls a pastor who tells her the gospel and she prays for salvation.</p>

Led astray by a new-age friend and church, she spends nine years in drinking and immorality. Then she meets Rick, gets engaged, becomes pregnant, and a Christian doctor dissuades her from a third abortion. She and Rick marry, have the baby and fight because both are selfish. She meets a Christian, goes to church, gets saved and Rick repents. After her adoptive mom dies, Carolyn finds her birth mother. Now counsels in a crisis pregnancy center.</p>

A friend rescues her and they live together. She gets pregnant and they marry but fight. Pat’s entanglement with her real family leads to her leaving her husband as the first part ends.</p>

At an advanced academic school she learns English and then goes to England when she’s 17 as an exchange student, where she falls in love with philosophy and becomes an atheist. Back home, a Christian challenges a teacher about disrespecting Jesus, and Angie goes to church with a friend where an evangelist shares the gospel, which Angie fails to accept. At the university she plans to be a journalist and change the world, but her old friend gets saved and helps Angie understand God’s love. She opens her heart to Christ. A Scottish exchange students disciples her. She witnesses to her former teacher and leads her mother to Christ.</p>

<p>Frank joins the army but is so undisciplined that he is discharged honorably. Back home he meets Cheryl. They fall in love and marry and she has a calming effect. He works hard, goes to college but becomes briefly hooked on prescription drugs for stress. He works for a biomedical firm that moves them to Georgia where the owner prays for Frank one day. He’s transferred to South Carolina, and a preacher comes to their house, invites them to church to hear evangelist, Phil Kidd. The last night they go and Frank is convicted but not saved. The pastor and evangelist visit again and Frank submits to Christ. His dad professes faith before he dies. Frank forgives his mother and is now in ministry.</p>

<p>Al witnesses to inmates in the jail and the judge, who dismisses the charges. Al also shares the gospel with a neighbor, John; but he is awkward as he continues his odyssey West, seeking God’s will. He stops in Wichita and works for an airplane company where he has his first experience seeing someone yield to Christ. He drives on to Los Angeles, where he hears a Messianic Jew on Christian radio and learns personal evangelism with him. He quits his job to attend a missionary training school and goes to Africa as a missionary for three years. He does well at evangelism but has problems with other missionaries. Eventually, he leaves the mission to be an independent missionary, going to 40 countries.</p>

<p>Caleb’s mother is a widow with two daughters when she marries Caleb’s father, who is abusive, forcing his sons to read the Bible and pray. He home-schools the boys while their mother works. Caleb grows up hating religion and runs away numerous times. He prays to be saved but is never sure. He joins the army to get away but is so rebellious he is discharged. He goes to live near his grandparents and his sister, who tells him her stepfather molested her growing up. This drives Caleb away from God to drugs and the occult. He attempts suicide. In the hospital a preacher visits and shares the gospel. Caleb then goes to Hollywood to study music. Life with drug addicts is scary, and he is cheated and longs for peace. Finally, he prays, trusting God for salvation. Now in Bible college, preparing for missionary service.</p>

They marry when she is sixteen; but four years later Gary is killed in an oil rig explosion. A young man in church woos Carolyn and they marry. They serve as evangelists until he slides into exorcism and divorces her after 24 years of marriage. Today she is in prison ministry to women.</p>

<p>Bonnie meets a doctor who offers to provide drugs in exchange for sexual favors. The arrangement lasts for six years during which time she marries a second time and has a second son. Then she divorces. When the doctor drops her, she attempts suicide. Wayne Neufeld has been taking her sons to church, and he finds her limp body and takes her to the hospital. She blames Christians, returns to bars and meets a biker, who shares her with his buddies. She moves and he follows her. She is again hospitalized, told to give up drugs and alcohol, and she goes to rehab. There she reads the Bible and gets saved. She finds Wayne to ask forgiveness and they marry. Now in ministry as drug counselors.</p>

<p>Darren’s parents divorce when he’s six. His mother’s involvement with palm readers and horror movies confuse him although his father gets saved and takes him to church. Left alone, he smokes with a friend. His older brother plays in a band and Darren does, too, at age thirteen. Drugs and music consume his life. He quits school at seventeen and lives with one person after another. His dad takes him to youth camp at nineteen, where he surrenders to Christ. Now in ministry.</p>

<p>Bob’s mother abandons her three children to live with Bob’s father, who is an alcoholic gambler. Bob and his younger brother are born and grow up with fighting and fear. Two of his mother’s children return home, and his older half-brother teaches him to steal. Both boys are required to leave school at sixteen to work. The family goes to mass every week, but live sinful lives. Bob works at a machine shop with a believer who gives him a Bible and answers questions about salvation. First part ends with Bob’s salvation.</p>

<p>Stan grows up in a semi-orthodox family of Jews. His mother dies when he is twelve, causing him to question God. At eighteen he is arrested on felony drug charges. Christians pray for him, his girlfriend gives him a Bible and ultimately the charges are dismissed. Stan goes to college where fraternity friends and an older woman continue witnessing. He prays for salvation and asks God for a sign. The next evening he has dinner with Corrie Ten Boom and has his sign. He now has a ministry sharing Jewish festivals with the church.</p>

<p>Marvin grows up in a poor share-cropper family that loves music. He goes forward for salvation at fifteen but falls in with rowdy boys after the family moves to Florida. In the army he plays in a band and learns to drink. Afterward he forms his own band, writes songs and has a major country music star record one of his songs. He marries and is increasingly conflicted about the lyrics of country music. Asked to be a music director at his church, he turns away from the world to serve the Lord.</p>

Finally, goes to church and gives her life to Christ. She goes to Bible college, marries and describes the difficulties of having an autistic son. Now has a jail ministry.</p>

<p>Thelma’s mother, who often abandons her children, forces Thelma to quit school at age fifteen and marry. Thelma’s husband dies, leaving her with eight children and no income. One daughter runs away. Destitute, Thelma gives up three daughters for adoption. “Unshackled!” writer, Kennetha, comes back home however. Thelma manages to build her own house. Kennetha gets saved and witnesses to Thelma, who is hostile to the gospel but who prays for salvation before her death.</p>

<p>Kermit’s hard drinking leads to his cousin’s death and leaves him plagued with guilt. He loses a good job and ends up on the streets where he shoots a man during a confrontation. A friend tells him about Jesus, Who will change his life. So Kermit searches for the rescue mission, comes to Pacific Garden Mission and gives his life to Christ. He and Mary are married, and he is still serving God at PGM.</p>
