Confidence is a key pillar to good performance, however, we tend to give less thought to the role confidence plays in our mental health. Junior women’s soccer player for the University of Iowa, Sam Cary, understands the connection and has experienced the mental health challenges that come with trying to mute the inner voice that owns her abilities and strengths. She has a passion for mental health and eradicating the stigma that surrounds mental illness and is working on her campus to put together programming that will support her fellow student-athletes. On this episode of Unit3d, Sam shares some of her personal journey as well as insights she has had to why we must be unapologetically ourselves.
