Ep 8Neil Young Who? | Have We Entered Self-Cancellation Culture?
On this episode, we will be discussing the musical artist, Neil Young's cancellation of himself (yes, actually) when he delivered an ultimatum to Spotify and demanded that the streaming platform either delete Joe Rogan's podcast (yes, the same Joe Rogan Spotify paid $100M to in a licensing deal) or remove Neil's music altogether. Spotify clearly sided with Joe Rogan (and free speech/expression) and now Young's music has been removed from the platform. This whole fiasco is fascinating to me, but what is most intriguing about this is that Cancel Culture has taken a swift and unpredicted turn into literal self-cancellation. Neil Young would rather lose out on money and exposure than hear a viewpoint that he disagrees with -- the guy is literally cancelling himself over not being able to handle -- not even listening to -- but just knowing that someone else has a different opinion from him. It's crazy! I just think the psychology of this is extremely interesting, but mainly we will be discussing how much of a dumb, idiotic loser move this was, both professionally and personally.—Support the show! https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/FZKNL65KMHHQW—https://music.apple.com/us/album/us-vs-the-industry/1605150705?uo=2
Ep 9It’s URkraine, not OURkraine | Planned Parenthood Loves Child Sex Trafficking
*Disclaimer: I curse quote our "president" in this episode; so don't listen with children around. Today, we'll be discussing Biden's latest lunatic moments - such as his decision to potentially get involved in a foreign war (when we have a domestic war here at home - where is the food, the affordability, and the unity? Anyone seen those running around recently?) I will also go over Biden's odd/hateful clap-back to a journalist who dared ask him a question on inflation, and I'll wrap up by going over a Planned Parenthood tweet where they claim to support "youth sex work." Pardon us all, WHAT EVEN IS THAT!?!!!!!! The world is absolutely lost and insane. Ep 10M&Ms & White House Walls
Hey guys! On this episode, we will be discussing the new rebranding of "inclusivity" over at M&M (they're adding a little cringe #girlboss action to literal pieces of candy -- which is... more than odd). I will go on a long rant about how we need to stop acting so shocked when women succeed (just like we need to stop acting so shocked when black people succeed), and I will wrap up by discussing the fabulous new "please don't kill us" White House wall they have constructed to protect Biden (and his administration) from the very people he claims love him (and the media's predictable gaslighting about said wall). Ep 11Empathy Empowers, Ego Eviscerates | Angus Williams Interview
Ahoy there! On this episode, I interview Angus Williams, Founder and Executive Director of the Earhart Club, which is an organization serving the community by bringing girls and their mothers together in order to better understand one another (and thereby building stronger relationships between each other). The Earhart Club is named after Amelia Earhart (the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean) and focuses on teaching young girls to find (and keep) their individual voices/passions. The Earhart Club's slogan is "Developing Forces for Awesomeness" and their three pillars are Curiosity, Understanding, and Values -- all vital factors in creating strong, self-assured girls who will grow up into strong, self-assured women. Angus and I will do a deep dive into the differences between "knowing" someone and genuinely understanding them; which are quite separate things. Angus will then tell us about the Earhart Club's 10-week after school program, what exactly they do, statistics on how they've seen mother/daughter relationships improve, and how mothers and daughters can get involved with the organization. We will also discuss how individuality and community work together; strong individuals build strong communities, and vice versa. Ultimately, true closeness and connectivity rely on empathy, compassion, and authentic understanding. And these are all important qualities that every single one of us (including me) could use more of personally, professionally, and when it comes to swaying public opinion.—Support the show! https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/FZKNL65KMHHQW—https://theearhartclub.org
