高盛經濟學家認為，川普對中國的關稅增加為20%，而不是60%，並且不會對其他國家徵收全面關稅。在這種情況下，他們認為Fed較關注的核心通膨(Core PCE)將從目前的2.7%降至一年後的2.3%，而非預測的2%，這樣的差異不會阻止Fed降息。他們認為，即使在這個通膨率水準下，仍比過去三年的大部分時間低。
