Selim Deringil, professor of history at the Lebanese American University, on “The Ottoman Twilight in the Arab Lands: Turkish Memoirs and Testimonies of the Great War” (Academic Studies Press). The book includes translations and annotations of memoirs by five Ottomans stationed in Syria and the Arab Peninsula during World War One.
