Tucson residents, mark your calendars for this Saturday, April 11th, from 8 a.m. to noon at East Side City Hall on East Broadway. The city is hosting a household hazardous waste event where you can dispose of old cleaning products, batteries, paint, propane cylinders, pool chemicals, printer cartridges, auto batteries, and oil filters. Additionally, you can shred up to three boxes of sensitive papers on-site. However, there are strict rules: no unknown chemicals, medical waste, business junk, explosives, ammo, or radioactive materials. Dried paint and alkaline batteries can be disposed of in your regular trash bin. This event is free for Tucson residents, but nearby suburbs or Pima County residents must pay $10 and show proof of residence. If you miss this event, you can visit Los Reales landfill on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The next collection is on May 9th at Pima Community College Downtown on North Stone Avenue. The city will pause collections during the summer months. Visit the city website for a full list of accepted items and dates.
