Don Hatfield, a beloved journalist and longtime editor of the Tucson Citizen, passed away on March 8th at the age of 90. Known for his warmth, curiosity, and kindness, Hatfield started his career as a teenager and rose through the ranks to lead the Tucson Citizen for 22 years. His passion for storytelling and mentoring young journalists earned him the respect of colleagues and friends. Hatfield remained engaged in journalism until his passing, cheering on the University of Arizona basketball team. Services are pending, and contributions can be made to scholarships at Marshall University in his and his late wife Sandys name.
