This week at True North, we continued our deep dive into the Beatitudes with a message from Matthew 5:5 — “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” But don’t confuse meekness with weakness. Jesus isn’t calling us to shrink back—He’s inviting us to walk in power under control, to live with a strength that is submitted, steady, and surrendered.
"Meek" in the Greek—praus—carries the force of a trained warhorse: powerful, yet fully yielded to the rider. In this message, we uncover what it means to live this kind of life—not by force or self-assertion, but by radical trust in God. We’re called to think like citizens of heaven, rooted in Christ, unshaken by earthly noise.
And today wasn’t just a message—it was a celebration. It was Baptism Sunday! We witnessed the beauty of new life, as several were raised to life in Christ, declaring that they belong to Him.
