On January 15th, 1947, a young mother and her 3 year old child were walking to a shoe repair shop when they suddenly saw the body of Elizabeth Short laying in a vacant lot in Las Angeles, California. Elizabeth’s naked body was cut cleanly in half at the waist, and had been completely drained of her blood before being dumped. 71 years later, her death remains one of LAPD’s oldest and most famous cold cases.
