"We just didn't like her anymore." | The Murder of Skylar Neese
Skip the intro: (15:30)How well do you know your friends?Skylar Neese (16) went missing from her West Virginia home in July 2012. She was last seen on CCTV, sneaking out of her bedroom window and getting into a grey sedan. Investigators eventually focused on Skylar’s two close friends, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf. Through tips, confessions, and evidence collected from digital communications, it emerged that the two girls had plotted and carried out Skylar’s murder. Students at the high school that the girls attended had heard Shelia and Rachel planning the murder but did not report it as they thought it was a joke. Shelia and Rachel would both be arrested and charged with Skylar’s murder. When asked about their motive, Rachel said “We just didn’t like her” and that they “didn't want to be friends with her anymore".In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss the murder of Skylar Neese.Read our blog for this case - https://truecrimesocietyblog.com/2026/03/26/how-well-do-you-know-your-friends-the-murder-of-skylar-neese/ We also discuss updates in the Nancy Guthrie case.Remember to check the timestamp to get straight to the case.Be sure to join us on Patreon for weekly exclusive episodes and all episodes are ad-free - Patreon.com/truecrimesocietyJoin us on Instagram for the latest crime news - Instagram.com/truecrimesocietyThis episode is sponsored by:Noom - The Noom GLP-1 Microdose Program starts at $99 and is delivered to your door in seven days.
