Series: Becoming Fisherman

Title: Intentional Replication

Scripture: John 4:31-39

Speaker: Pastor Ben Jennings

Date: September 8, 2024 (Sunday Morning Worship Service)

What does a mature disciple of Christ look like?

1. Faithful Assembler- We fish better when we fish together.

2. Obedient Walker- Those who walk with Christ tend to share Him with others.

3. Generous Servant- You can give and you can serve without fishing for men, but you cannot be a fisher of men without serving and giving.

4. Purposeful Witness- To be a purposeful witness you must follow Jesus by intentionally talking to people, where they are about their

need for the Gospel.

5. Intentional Replicator- A Christ follower understands that they must share the Gospel with the lost, and train others to be on that same mission. They intentionally train “others to observe (obey) all that I (Christ) have commanded you”. They are intentional in making accountable relationships in their family and local church for that purpose. When the lost get saved they are intentional in training them to obey.

We can follow Jesus by making fishers of men by intentionally replicating obedience to the Great Commission using three specific methods seen in John 4:27-42.

1. We multiply from our example. (v. 27-30)

2. We multiply from our exhortation. (v. 31-35)

3. We multiply from our equipping. (v. 36-42)
