Amy is a busy woman and was hard to pin down but once I was finally able to we had a great conversation about Treeing Curs and her family's line of them. They have had these dogs for 40 years and she is still continuing the breed them to this day. After talking to Dan in episode 27 I wanted to dive into more cat hunting with Mountain Curs. Perry Elliott and his Wyoming Mountain Curs was a name I had seen numerous times over the years so I reached out and he did not disappoint. We talked about how he switched from hounds to mountain curs and how his dogs have performed for him over the last 20 years. This is the last archived episode to be re-released. This was recorded last October in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with my friend Richard Bailey. In this episode I cold called two guys to talk hunting big game with Stephens Curs. First I talked to Don Paige, a 90 year old man thats been pursuing hounds almost his entire life. During our conversation he told me I needed to talk to his long time friend Glen Gray, so I turned around and called him as well. Curt Ladner joins me and explains how breeding the Ladner Blackmouth Cur has not only been passed down from his father and grandfather but goes back even further. We also talk about the versatility of the breed but how breeding tree dogs has always remained a priority. As always we have a few good hunting stories thrown in there as well.

I recently saw someone post a video of their Faulkner Curs on facebook and it led me down a path to Steve Block. Steve is the longtime friend and hunting buddy of the founder Gary Faulkner. In this re-released episode I caught up with Robert Kemmer and he told me about some of the history and the dogs that are now known as Kemmer Curs. In March I was able to attend the Leopard Cur hunt and catch up with Bill and a few others as we talked mainly about what are known as midwest bred leopards. Bill has been involved with the Leopard breed since the late 1970's. Unfortunately had to cut this one a little short due to the events going on at the hunt. I'll have to get Bill on again to talk more about his long history with the breed.

In this episode I sat down with longtime family friend Terry Sullivan, his son in-law Blake Ambrose, and their friend Burgess Wills. These guys are all members of Orbit Hunt Club in Isle of Wight county Virginia. These guys were hard to get talking but had a few good stories and some good information about deer hunting with dogs.

Derril talks about getting into hounds and hunting with some well-known dry-ground lion hunters. How those friendships helped him into his lifelong career as a government hunter. Derril then explains how the versatility of his Kemmer's has enabled him to use the same dogs on various types of game. For someone that said he had nothing to say it was a great conversation that went from reminiscing about the old days to breeding a line of dogs.

In this episode, I sit down with Charlie and Rehan from Garmin. They tell me about some of the history and evolution of the dog tracking and training products.
