Today we’re anchored in Proverbs 23:6–8, and this passage is all about discernment. It says not to eat the bread of a stingy man, even if what he offers looks good. On the surface, he may be inviting, generous, even welcoming. He’s telling you to eat, to enjoy, to take part. But underneath it all, his heart isn’t with you. He’s calculating. He’s keeping score. There’s an agenda behind what looks like generosity.
