Marriage is supposed to make us happy, right? I mean, that's what we've been sold: the perfect spouse, the fairytale wedding, the happily ever after. It sounds good, right? But what happens when life doesn't follow the script? When your spouse disappoints you, says things that kind of make you mad, or just doesn't complete you like rom-coms promise?
Suddenly that belief that marriage is here to make us happy, it starts to feel less like a dream and more like a setup... a setup for bitterness, for disappointment, maybe even walking away. So today we are trading that lie for a truth that is harder, but it is better because what if marriage wasn't meant to complete you, but to grow you, to make you more like Christ?
