Show Notes

Devotion to the Pope In this episode, we will look at devotion to the person of the Pope and the Papacy from the point of view of the ordinary Catholic. What should our attitude be to the Pope, especially in these dark days when the Chair of St. Peter has been left vacant for so long? Can we accept Benedict as Pope, but then 'resist' his authority and teaching, or is such 'resistance' actually contrary to the very foundations of Catholic piety? Fr. Benedict Hughes, priest of the CMRI, will join us to discuss these questions, especially in the light of the recent re-publication of Fr. Frederick Faber's classic sermon 'Devotion to the Pope,' available from the Mary Immaculate Queen Center, which so amply and clearly answers them. Original Air Date: January 19, 2013 Show Run Time: 1 hour 06 minutes Show Guest(s): Father Benedict Hughes, CMRI Show Host(s): Dr. Piers Hugill, Nicholas Wansbutter
