Three times in these 7 verses Jesus declared that the Father had SENT Him. There was a purpose to the sending, the Word being made flesh, God with a message of hope and salvation to the world.
What started in a manger was going to end on a cross, and Jesus was praying for the world. That everyone would have a chance to receive His love and forgiveness.
