Rebecca Shiffman is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles via NYC. Her newest record, Before The Future, is set to release on July 25th and includes studio contributions from Chris Cohen, Tim Carr (Perfume Genius, Hand Habits), SASAMI and Luke Temple (Here We Go Magic). Rebecca shares her experience growing up in Manhattan with culture forward parents and how a high school classmate with a four-track recorder opened the door to the power of DIY creativity. Joe the Rebecca discuss the forthcoming single Little Mr. Civility (out May 20th), what the inspirations are behind the song and how it conjures up memories of early parenting. Rebecca tells us why Before The Future is stacked with heavy hitters, how her lyrics dictate the direction of each song and why she decided to take more of a producer role with the new record.
