Harry Gruyaert is al veertig jaar lang Magnumfotograaf. Een half leven, want eind augustus werd hij er tachtig.Hij trok als modefotograaf naar Parijs en Londen, ontdekte het licht in Marokko en Rusland, en zag zijn geboorteland België pas toen hij er al lang niet meer woonde.
