The protagonist, Bina Blonski, uses her looks and talent to escape the Warsaw Ghetto, ultimately rising to Hollywood fame—and continuing to fight against Nazis. Lisa explains how her own family history (she is the daughter of a Holocaust survivor) influenced this book and then delves into her research process and the novel’s relevance to today’s current events. She and Zibby touch on the ongoing fight against antisemitism and the importance of standing against hate.
