Daniel and Zibby discuss why Daniel wanted this novel to feature some under-discussed and challenging conversations about parenthood, and particularly how it pertains to Black men. Daniel also shares how his family's story inspired him to pursue his PhD, why it's important to let children grow up to be who they are, and what the sequel to this novel will look like.
