President Trump made the decision to prevent transgender troops from entering the military. At the time, it was unknown how it would affect currently serving troops. Also at question, do transgender troops hurt unit cohesion and efficiency?
Now, the Pentagon has stated that no transgendered person (or those with Gender Dysphoria) will be allowed to enlist in the US military after April 12th. Tony Katz speaks with Military.com managing editor Hope Seck about the decision, unit efficiency and the military as a tool of social change.
