Rep. Jim Banks Tells Tony Katz Democrats Are Begging For More Articles Of Impeachment So They Can Vote Against Them
Speaker Nancy Pelosi has announced that she is instructing her Chairmen (including Adam Schiff, Eliot Engel and Jerrold Nadler) to write up Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump. A vote on impeachment could come before Christmas. Rep. Jim Banks (R IN-3) tells radio host Tony Katz that there are Democrats who are begging Democratic leadership to add more articles so they can vote against them, in order to save face in the swing dirsticts they represent: REP. JIM BANKS: There will be a handful or more, maybe a dozen=n or so, or more, Democrats who will vote against it. That again gets to the heart of the matter, because you're not going to see a single Republican in the House of Representatives who votes in support of impeachment. TONY KATZ: You think there's going to be a dozen Democrats who vote against impeachment in the House? BANKS: So that's my speculation today based, Tony, on conversations with Democrats on the floor. There are a number of Democrats who come from moderate, swing districts who know that the results of this will not fair well for them in the election in 2020. They're begging Speaker Pelosi to put Articles of Impeachment on the floor they can vote against. That's why I think you'll see a handful of articles, because those Democrats want to be able to go home and say at least they voted against some of the articles. So, I'm speculating at this point. But I really dont believe she has as much support for impeachment as even she had for the impeachment inquiry vote a couple of weeks ago. KATZ: But we're not arguing whether or not she's got enough votes to have some of the articles passed, and send it to the Senate for trial. BANKS: They'll get there with at least one of the articles of impeachment. I don't think there's any doubt about that. But there are Democrats who are privately begging House Democrat Leader (Adam) Schiff to put articles on the floor they can vote against.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What Does The South Bend Police Department Think Of Mayor Pete Buttigieg? South Bend FOP President Harvey Mills Explains
Mayor and presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg has angered both the police in South Bend and the residents with his reaciton to a police involved shooting. In the Democratic debates, and on the campaign trail, Mayor Buttigieg has made comments angering police, intimating that they are racist and policing is based in systemic racism. South Bend Fraternal Order of Police Preisdent Harvey Mills talked to Tony Katz about tensions in South Bend, how the police department has responded to Mayor Buttigieg's statements (including when the Mayor sent the police department pizza) and how city residents are reacting. The interviewed occured on July 23rd, and originally aired on Tony Katz Today. (Screenshot from original article on WIBC.com)See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tony Katz Teaches Sen. Cory Booker How To Properly Answer A Question About The Second Amendment Without Fear Mongering
At a town hall featuring presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker, a woman named Rachel asked him about guns, claiming that she is not free because she has to fear gun violence in schools and places of worship. Sen. Booker's response was one of codifying her fear, and declaring that he will take the fight to the NRA. Tony Katz goes about answering the question. Instead of telling Rachel that she should be afraid, Tony gives her a better way to look at her life, to turn her fear into empowement and the opportunities she has to control her destiny. If you want a society that can guarantee your safety, you will never have freedom. Government can not guarantee security. The American citizen is the first line, and the last line, of defense. Call it the Omar Effect: Democrat Candidates Refuse To Attend AIPAC Event at Behest of Progressives
Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, amongst her tweets about Israel "hypnotizing the world" and claiming Jews have "dual loyalty" proclaimed on social media that members of Congress support the Israel - and specifically AIPAC, the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee - because they are paid to. "It's all about the Benjamins, baby." she wrote. Since then, Democrats have been very open about their anti-Israel sentiments. Progressive group Moveon.org has urged Democrats not to attend the AIPAC meeting in Washington DC this year. And multiple Democratic candidates for president have agreed to skip the event, attend by former President Obama in 2008 and 2012, by Hillary Clinton multiple times and by former Vice-President Joe Biden in 2016. As Tony Katz explains, the progressives own and control the Democrat party. "Sen. Chuck Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi may be attending," said Tony, "but the absence of the candidates is what's loudest. And their messasge is clear: We side with Ilhan Omar."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ocasio-Cortez Tries To Insert Herself Into Hoosier School Safety Debate
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has inserted herself into a school safety debate in Indiana. Training for active shooter situations has received press in the Hoosier state as teachers say they were shot at with pellet guns by police officers during the drills. Tony Katz agrees: shooting the teachers is ridiculous. However, the commentary and ham-fisted argument of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez on school safety - that it is not necessary to train teachers and students for active shooter situations if we had, among other things, universal background checks and safe storage laws - is not just wrong, it's ugly and dangerous. "Can't you (Rep. Ocasio-Cortez) stop just for a moment?" says Tony. "We're talking about the lives of children. Why is it that you're ok with children and teachers not being trained to deal with problematic, dangerous situations?"See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Future of Transgender Troops In The US Military
President Trump made the decision to prevent transgender troops from entering the military. At the time, it was unknown how it would affect currently serving troops. Also at question, do transgender troops hurt unit cohesion and efficiency? Now, the Pentagon has stated that no transgendered person (or those with Gender Dysphoria) will be allowed to enlist in the US military after April 12th. Tony Katz speaks with Military.com managing editor Hope Seck about the decision, unit efficiency and the military as a tool of social change.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Let's Change How We Do College In America
America needs to change the way it looks at college. This is what Tony Katz thinks, and he took to his show to break down why a new look is needed, and what the value of college really is. We need to change what we think college should provide, and that means asking if you really need college to be successful. We live in a world where we're going to live to be 90, is it really necessary to jump into college at 18? Get some expereince in life. Learn some skills. Pay your rent. Then make decisions. "Mayor Pete" Doesn't Miss His Moment To Attack Indiana
The Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttegieg, is gaining in popularity. The Democrat has launched a long-shot run for President of the United States, and has gotten some good traction. However, as Tony Katz notes, that traction comes at the expense of Indiana. Like Indiana media did during the RFRA (Religious Freedom Restoration Act) conversation, Buteegieg didn't miss a moment to try and elevate himself while attempting to put down Hoosiers. Yet his own story about winning re-election, after coming out as gay, with 80% of the vote proves the lack of bigotry in the state. So why is he p;aying into the disgusting stereotype that Hoosiers are bigots? Is that how you win the presidency? Insult your home state? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jussie Smollett Thought His Lie Would Work, Because He Thought Nothing Of Dehumanizing Trump Supporters
Jussie Smollett has been arrested and charged with filing a false police report in connection to an alleged attack against him. As the story has played out, Smollett coordinated and paid (by check!) for two Nigerian men to attack him so he could garner sympathy and increase his TV salary. Tony Katz gets to the heart of the matter. Why would Jussie Smollett do this, the MSM asks and laments? Simple: he wanted "Reputation Capital," and he thought nothing of attacking, demeaning, lying about and dehumanizing Trump supporters to get it. The real story is that Jussie Smollet, and those who think like him, have so dehmanized the Trump supporter and others who disagree with them that they were willing to accuse them of crimes and let them be found guilty for them when they did nothing wrong. And they did it for cultural advancement - for Reputation Capital - and for a paycheck. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Don't Use Your Seven Year-Old To Move Your Political Agenda, and Don't Call Seven Year-Olds "Little Hitler"
A seven year-old, the son of two GOP supporters, holds a hot cocoa sale to raise money for the wall President Trump wants to build between the US and Mexico. In response, video of the boy selling cocoa received comments calling him a "Little Hitler." Tony Katz explains why this is one of the ugliest stories in America: First, don't use your kid as a political prop. I hate it when Democrats do this, and I feel the same when it's done by the GOP. If you support the wall, that's fine. But your seven year-old shouldn't be the way you show your support. And if you're so anti-wall and, really, anti- President Trump that you will call a seven year-old, "Little Hitler," you need to see a therapist and get medicated. Quickly. Now. Chicago Reporter Rafer Weigel Explains The Jussie Smollett Case, and the Sorry State Of Journalism In America
Jussie Smollett, the actor and singer, will be facing charges for filing a false police report. The Empire star claimed he was attacked by two men in Chicago screaming about "MAGA country" who placed a noose around his neck. The story fell apart when the two men who were suspected of the attack explained how they were paid by Smollett to stage the attack. But media across America did not wait for the facts: they declared Smollett was telling the truth and wasted no time attacking Trump supporters. Celebrities and presidential candidates like Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) joined in, going so far as to call it a "lynching." Chicago reporters had taken their time with the story, doing the hard work of journalism, and covered the events properly. Tony Katz speaks with Chicago FOX 32 reporter and anchor Rafer Weigel about the Smollett case, and the state of journalism in America.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett Attacks The NRA Months Before The NRA Has It's Annual Meeting In Indianapolis
Indianapolis Democrat Mayor Joe Hogsett used the NRA as a vehicle to attack GOP Mayoral candidate Jim Merritt. In addition to calling out Merritt's voting record as a state senator, Hogsett went after his support of the National Rifle Association. Hogsett claimed that Merritt takes his "marching orders" from the NRA, and that gun rights is out of step with Marion County voters. Hogsetts NRA attack is ill-timed, as the NRA is holding it's annual meeting in Indianapolis in April. The event will bring an estimated $55 million to the city. Tony Katz talks about the personal nature of the attack, and how out of touch Mayor Hogsett is with Indianapolis and America.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Indianapolis Rabbi Ben Sendrow Says Rep. Ilhan Omar's Apology For Anti-Semitic Tweets Is "Tepid"
After engaging multiple antisemitic tweets attacking Republican members of Congress for supporting Israel, Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar apologized "unequivocally." However, she did not stop her derision of AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Tony Katz spoke with prominent Indianapolis Rabbi Ben Sendrow about Rep. Omar's tweets, whether antisemitism is on the rise and what he thought of Rep. Omar's apology. The two also discussed if there is something wrong with critizing Israel on policy. "Of course not." said Rabbi Sendrow.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

KATZ: For Blackface We Have Outrage. For Infanticide We Have Silence.
The blackface photo on Democrat Gov. Ralph Northam's medical school yearbook page is ugly. It's a photo of person in blackface, standing next to a person in a KKK robe and hood. As Tony Katz says, "I don't defend that. It's ugly. And that's being kind." However, the outrage over the photo was met by nearly equal silence over his endorsing if not advocating infanticide as part of an abortion bill bring proposed in Virginia. Tony wonders why one gets outrage and one gets barely a mention?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam Advocates For Post-Birth Abortion. Tony Katz Calls It Murder.
A Virginia Democrat brought forth a bill that would allow abortions through the third trimester. When questioned about this, the state rep, Kathy Tran, admitted that the abortion could happen even when the mother is fully dilated. Virginia Democrat Governor Ralph Northam, in a radio interview, went so far as to say that a mother and her doctor could decide what to do with an infant after it is born. Yes, Gov. Northam used the word infant, and yes, Northam (who is also a physician!) clearly stated that choices can be made about the infant's future after birth. Tony Katz shares the audio, and comments on its twisted nature.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Nathan Phillips Is Worse Than You Know
Nathan Phillips was not attacked by the students of Covington Catholic High School. While media outlets around the nation tried to sell that story, the clear and unedited video proves this untrue. What is true, says Tony Katz, is that Phillips is a liar. Phil Kerpen of American Commitment joins Tony to discuss the real story of Phillips: he lied about serving in Vietnam. He also has a history of aggressive behavior, and inserting himself into bad situations. So why did media continue to push the lie that Phillips himself was attacked/accosted/insulted? And will any media correct the record?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Media Would Rather Attack Children Than Apologize
The Covington Catholic students have been attacked relentlessly. So-called "journalists," media commentators and elected officials - never mind the rabid throngs on social media - have unloaded vicious and violent sentiments towards these kids. Tony Katz thinks its important to remember that they are kids. And, they didn't do anything wrong. "When kids were murdered in Parkland, FL, and the high-profile students became cable news fixtures, I reminded people that you may disagree with what they are saying, about guns and the Second Amendment," says Tony. "But they are kids. Remember that." "Yet, when it comes to Covington Catholic students, media professionals and elected officials seem to think they are fair game for violence and vitriol based on lies. They're not. It's just wrong, and they're wrong."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Children Need Protection. Childism Is The Opposite.
A random tweet on Tony's twitter feed exposed Tony to a new concept called Childism, wherein so-called activists advocated for the rights of children to not be treated like children. "I've noticed, way too many times, where adults think children should have agency. They think children should be able to make choices that no child can make." says Tony. "That's not helping children. That's not advocating for children. That's child abuse." Hear Tony's take on the cultural breakdown that has led to adults failing to protect kids.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

QUICK HIT - Ocasio-Cortez' Green New Deal is Actually Really Dirty
Dem. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has the idea for a Green New Deal, in the mold of former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, that, in her words, will bring about racial and social justice. But, as National Review's Jim Geraghty points out, the "deal" cuts military spending in half and might put an end to non-electric cars. Jim speaks to Tony Katz about the details, and how dirty this "green" deal really is.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Quick Hit - Rep. Ocasio-Cortez On Morality, Facts and How She Wants To Be Judged By You
On 60 Minutes, Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told Anderson Cooper that more important than getting the facts right on policy, is that the policy is "morally correct." Tony Katz explains how Cortez has opened herself up to an entirely new line of questioning. "Rep. Cortez has done a great job of avoiding criticism and making those who attack her look bad." says Tony. "But now, she's let all that go. She doesn't care about facts, which is exactly the argument progressives make about President Trump. And she has asked people to question whether, morally, her Socialist policies have value; people get to question her morality. I don't think she realizes what she's done here."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

281 - So A Guy Got Locked In A Burger King Bathroom, It's Now Speaker Pelosi and Apple Gets A Bite Taken Out Of It
With Democrats taking control of the House, the Night of 1000 Subpoenas is upon us. Tony Katz discusses what will happen, and why Speaker Pelosi has her hands full with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And why is President Trump not aiming for the head of Senator Mitt Romney after his op-ed in the Washington Post? A man got stuck in a Burger King bathroom for an hour, and was offered free food. Did he really think it would last for life? And Apple is seeing a massive slowdown in the purchase of iPhones. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

280 - White Women Wish For Wokeness, LeBron the Activist has A Lot To Learn and Mitt Romney Swings Wildly At Trump
The Women's March in Eureka, CA has been cancelled, because of too many white women. Tony Katz breaks down the progressive cannibalism that is the very concept of "wokeness." Sen. Elizabeth Warren is running for President. And Gov. Andrew Cuomo's inauguration speech shows that he's running as well. Unfortunately for him, the speech is just awful. Sen-Elect Mitt Romney takes President Trump's character to task. Unfortunately for him, his Washington Post op-ed doesn't do him any favors. LeBron James may be the best basketball player in the world, and he might be the best who ever played the game. But activist LeBron James has a lot to learn.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
