(Or for some of us, go back to a classic format) I've got this awesome workout idea that's not only going to get us sweating but also add a fun twist to our routine. It's called EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute), and trust me, it's a total game-changer. Just imagine the rush of challenging yourself to complete sets of exercises within each minute – it's like a friendly competition against the clock. Not only will it boost our endurance and strength, but it'll also keep things exciting as we race to finish before the next minute starts. Plus, think about the sense of accomplishment you will get after conquering each round. Let's give it a shot and make our workout sessions even more epic! An EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute) workout is a high-intensity interval training method where participants perform a specific exercise or a combination of exercises at the start of every minute for a predetermined duration. As the clock begins, individuals engage in the designated exercises, striving to complete the required repetitions within the allocated time frame. Any remaining time in that minute serves as rest before the cycle restarts. If you fish in Florida or really anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Seaboard you have probably had your fish get eaten on the way in. It is happening everywhere and there is a SHARK EXPLOSION. This is a highly controversial topic because most of the population have been conditioned to believe that Sharks populations are on the decline and somehow they are rare, delicate and almost on the endangered species list. The AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) workout format stands as a high-octane favorite in the world of high-intensity interval training. During an AMRAP session, the goal is simple: tackle a series of exercises or moves within a fixed time frame, usually spanning 5 to 20 minutes. Your mission? Ace as many rounds of the designated exercises as you can within that timeframe. Beyond pumping up cardiovascular endurance and muscle might, this format fuels that daring spirit within you, urging you to defy limits and pour your all into every rep. Keep track of your roudns and reps so you can manage your gains. Loved for its adaptability, it fits any fitness stage and packs a full-body punch, all in a blink of a workout. How do the champions manage their diets? What do you need to eat to achieve your goals? It is crucial for athletes to avoid undereating as it provides the necessary fuel and nutrients to support their training, optimize performance, and promote muscle recovery. Insufficient calorie intake can lead to decreased energy levels, impaired recovery, compromised immune function, and hindered overall athletic progress. Jason Grubb, a three-time Masters CrossFit Games champion, shares his nutrition and training routine. Weighing in at 203 lbs, Jason consumes 3400 calories per day to fuel his performance. He starts with his signature bulletproof coffee, a blend of half-caf @BlackRifleCoffee, butter, MCT powder, creatine, and cinnamon. For breakfast, Jason eats eight egg whites and two full eggs, scrambled, along with two cups of white rice. He also includes in-season fruits for a high carbohydrate intake. Lunch consists of either chicken and rice or zero-fat high-protein yogurt and bananas. After intense workouts, dinner includes a pound of ground beef or fish/chicken. This week, I tied and tested the San Diego Jam Knot. The San Diego Jam Knot is a reliable and straightforward knot used by many different anglers, saltwater and freshwater. To tie it, start by passing the tag end of your line through the eye of the hook or lure and then double it back. Create a loop by twisting the doubled line seven times, ensuring that the loop is larger than the hook's eye. Next, pass the tag end through the loop you created, making sure it goes behind the doubled line. Moisten the knot, hold the tag end, and carefully tighten the knot by pulling the mainline and the tag end simultaneously. Once tight, trim the excess tag end. Last week, I tested if spiting on your knot made any difference for the strength of your knot. This week we are testing another requested myth. Does super glue actually increase the strength of your knots? If it does increase the strength, is it worth it to use super glue? Using super glue on a small knot or on a boat often leads to sticky situations. This test will have to be pretty definitive for me to put up with gluing my fingers together. Whether you’re at home, on the road, or just do not have access to workout equipment, this Physical Friday is just for you. Today we go over the COUNTDOWN WORKOUT. Often called 11s or 21s, all you need for this workout is two exercises! Let's use PUSH-UPS and SQUATS as an example. Start by doing 10 push-ups. After those 10 reps, do 1 squat. Then you will do 9 push-ups and 2 squats. Next do 8 push-ups and 3 squats. Repeat these steps until you finish with 1 push-up and 10 squats! The Homer Rhode loop knot is a type of fishing knot that creates a fixed loop at the end of a fishing line. This loop can be used to attach hooks, swivels, lures, or other terminal tackle. The Homer Rhode loop knot was developed by Homer Rhode, a famous angler and fly fishing expert, in the early 1900s. The resulting knot should be strong, secure, and easy to tie. This knot is especially popular among fly fishermen, but it can be useful in a wide range of fishing applications. In this episode, Tom test the knot with 12 lb fluorocarbon. In this Physical Friday segment, Tom shares a quick travel workout that can be done anywhere, even without a deck of cards. The workout involves marking off 10 yards and doing one exercise on each side, such as burpees and pushups. Starting with 10 reps of one exercise, you run to the other side, do 10 reps of the other exercise, and run back. Then you do 9 reps of the first exercise, and continue counting down until you've completed the workout. This workout is an excellent way to get your heart rate up and work multiple muscle groups at once, without needing much equipment. Burpees are a great full-body exercise that combines cardio, strength, and endurance, while push-ups help build upper body strength. Alternating between these two exercises can keep the workout challenging and engaging. Pick the best exercises for you and share your progress!
