
October 9, 1934: King Alexander I of Yugoslavia Assassinated
While visiting Prime Minister Louis Barthou of France in Marseilles, King Alexander I of Yugoslavia was assassinated. In the ensuing crowd panic and reaction from police, more shots were fired. Innocent victims would also die, as well as Barthou and the assassin.
