East County Walmart Standoff, Ocean Beach Pier Reopen, Local Firework Shows Guide
A standoff between police and a man with a hatchet is over. Deputies say a man walked into a Santee Walmart yesterday and started making suicidal threats. After more than 7 hours, they took the man into custody and no one was injured. Crowds are enjoying the Ocean Beach Pier after its six-month closure. The city is still deciding about its future.
