Hundreds of legal claims from people who say they were sexually abused by members of the clergy have forced the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Negotiations are now underway between Food4Less and the union representing thousands of their workers, who could be on the verge of a strike. Starting in August, bar and restaurant owners in Encinitas will have to pay $2.50 per square foot of public space they use each month if they want to keep their outdoor dining areas.
