Alright, how gay are we feeling this Tuesday? Because we can definitely feel gayer. Some suggestions: fresh flowers, the past tense of bake (consider: “boke”), and our gay ass headlines — starting with a huge win for Yeshiva University’s LGBTQIA+ club.
YU Pride Alliance has been in a bitter fight with the university over its existence for years (a not-so-subtle metaphor for the struggle of all queer people) but just Thursday, the university agreed the Pride Alliance can operate like any other club on campus — including using the letters “L.G.B.T.Q.” in its public materials. It’s a huge win for the students and has wider implications for the Orthodox Jewish community as a whole.
In b******t, Trump hints that anti-trans hate will be the Republican party’s 2026 midterm strategy. Trump complains “everything is transgender, everybody is transgender” and we’re like — where? Who what why how, because we’re in. And while the administration is causing chaos, we’ve also got nerds fighting the good fight to save government data on trans youth. We’re seeing eerie parallels between certain moments in history that utilized the destruction of knowledge to oppress and eradicate certain groups but nerds stay nerdin’ and we need to salute them preserving our history.
Plus, Vico’s geeking on Severance and Nay is in solidarity with all of us in 2012 watching that whack Gossip Girl finale. And keep your eyes peeled for Vico’s appearance as a judge at the Trans Day of Visibility Ball!
