Show Notes

We’re back! And we are still buzzing from our LIVE with Sara Quin, do we need to say more?! Well, we will…in a whole separate interview with Sara, coming in June! In the meantime, checkout the LIVE replay!

LIVE with Sara Quin

Today, Vico’s still in NYC and they’ve got the lowdown for us on how their solo show went this weekend! There might even be a little giveaway for tickets to Vico’s solo show when it travels to LA soon… stay tuned!

In today’s headlines, we’re talking Tim Walz — our vice president in another timeline. The Minnesota Governor Walz went on record to call out Democrats rolling over on trans rights as they figure out how to win their next elections. You can probably think of a few who need to be called out: we’re naming Andrew Cuomo and Gavin Newsom… (and maybe in that other timeline, Gavin never makes a podcast…)

In Washington, D.C., the city’s only QTBIPOC bar Saints and Sinners was vandalized. The bar suffered shattered glass, broken doors, and homophobic slurs written on the walls. This comes as D.C. is also celebrating WorldPride and Black Pride. Despite the setback, the bar still opened that night, the same day they were vandalized. As we all know, there is no stopping a “Sapphic Sailor Moon” party!

In Western Kentucky, the only all-lesbian film festival in the U.S. is thriving! Since 2016, the Cinema Systers Film Festival has been celebrated every Memorial Day weekend. We hope it’s okay that we’re celebrating a couple days late, Systers! If you’ve got a lesbian cinema list on Letterboxd, consider a trip to Kentucky next Memorial Day Weekend.

Also, Vico keeps us In The Loop on their weekend performing in NYC, and what we can expect in the near future. And in Good Gay News, Nay details a visceral dream she had, featuring Paula Deen!
