I want to address the recent passing of Pope Francis and its relation to the “Prophecy of the Popes.” I explain why the famous "Prophecy of the Popes" by Saint Malachy has essentially failed. Since Francis was supposed to be the 112th and final pope according to this 12th-century prediction, his passing demonstrates why we should never place extra-biblical prophecies on the same level as Scripture. While some may try to force the next pope into this framework, I believe we can now dismiss this prophecy as unfulfilled.
