Is there someone in your life who’s not good for themselves? Think of them as a flower in your garden.
Maybe a friend or colleague struggles with self-destructive habits, like the flower that fails to thrive like the other ones around it. For your garden flower you might give it extra attention while seeking advice from others. Your friend, like that flower, requires your gentle support and maybe professional assistance, too.
When your friend or coworker confides in you - the one who skips meals and sips black coffee instead, the one whose scars peek out of the end of their shirt sleeve, or the one who always belittles themselves - this simple phrase can be a lifeline: "I wish you saw your value like I do…I love you and want you to thrive."
If the word "love" feels too strong, you can replace it with "care about." This phrase won't miraculously heal them, but it might plant a seed of self-reflection, leading them toward the help they need.
