Thank you to all my faithful listeners I have decided to end Tied To Natures Yellowstone. I believe I have covered most the areas in Yellowstone and shared enough to give first time visitors and those visiting again sufficient information. Black Sand Geyser Basin is a small family friendly geyser basin. This is a great are to see a couple small geysers and some nice hot springs. You can make the trip here a little longer of you decide to take the hike from Old Faithful to Black Sand.

If you are visiting Yellowstone it is a good idea to know what the gateway communities have to offer. From some of the best fly fishing and snowmobiling in the country to hiking, floating, museums, and so much more. I talk bout all the communities and what to consider at each one.

West Thumb is the most southern road side basin in Yellowstone and worth a look. West Thumb sits right along the banks of the Yellowstone river and is a nice stopping point on your way to or from Jackson. As well if you are traveling toward Fishing Bridge or Old Faithful.

Winetr is upon us here in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and the wildlife has learned to live with or it, sleep through it , or move away from. Adam talks about specific wildlife you will see in the winter, the best places to find them and how they react in the winter.

Did you know Yellowstone has close to 300 waterfalls, many people are quite surprised by that fact. Adam talks about 18 waterfalls in Yellowstone that are easy to access many right off the road.

It has been a long time coming, thanks for all the encouragement to bring Tied To Nature's Yellowstone back for a season two. In episode one of season two I play a little catch up giving some updates on Yellowstone. Then share with you what to expect in the winter season, as believe it or not Yellowstone winter season is basically upon us.

The bison rut seems to be the highlight of Yellowstone in August. Which can bring in many other animals when there are casualties due to the rut. A little late but Sawmill geyser is active again as of now.

Rumors abound about crowds and needing reservations for Yellowstone. Yes there are crowds but have you been to Chicago because it is nothing compared to major cities or small cites through out the U.S. An no you do not need a reservation. Also tips on how to best navigate Yellowstone.

Gardiner MT, was once the most significant entrance to Yellowstone National Park. That meant the first thermal feature to be seen by most guests entering the park was Mammoth Hot Springs. Although this area may not be as popular as Old Faithful, Mammoth is worth taking the drive to not only for the springs here but for the history of Fort Yellowstone.

One of the highlights of going into the Old Faithful Inn is looking over the shoulder of resident artist Jim Reed and watch as his paintings come to life. Jim shares his story about he became the resident artist at the Old Faithful Inn and gives some insight into his art.

Old Faithful the world famous geyser is what most people are coming to Yellowstone to see. Yet did you know it is only one of about 500 geysers in Yellowstone and 1 of about 150 geysers within a mile of the Old Faithful area. Old Faithful is a huge attraction but not the only geyser worth visiting while in this area.

Wow what a hot month in Yellowstone, it was above are average temps for the month. Bears and wolves were still active until the end. Steamboat did not erupt this month but Old Faithful continues to be faithful.

I missed a week and decided to play a little catch up. I start with tips for preparing for your Yellowstone vacation and then get into Lamar Valley. Lamar Valley is considered the Serengeti of the United States and is in general the best place to see wildlife.

One of the most often looked over areas of Yellowstone is probably the Grand Canyon and Lower Falls. The amazing canyon stretches for 20 miles and has magnificent views of two huge waterfalls flowing through it. If The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is not on your list of places to see it should be.

Chris Geremia has been working in Yellowstone with bison for about 20 years. Chris got started as field technician due to his skiing experience. Then in 2018 he took on the role as the lead bison biologist. Fountain Paint Pots trail is my go to to place when it comes to taking visitors around a geyser basin in Yellowstone. If you have one day in Yellowstone and are wondering which of the many geyser basins to choose from I would consider Fountain Paint Pots. In this one area you find all four of the major thermal features in Yellowstone. Geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles can all be seen here.

Julianne met the mountain when she was 18, she says it was first an infatuation, then a love affair, and now it is a good marriage. She has been hiking for over 48 years and made Yellowstone (Gardiner, MT) her home in 2002.Julianne has hiked thousands of miles in Yellowstone and shares some insights in to hiking in Yellowstone.
