Honor The Adjustment Period
When two people come together, they’re bringing two nervous systems into relationship with one another. Each has learned how to stay safe in its own way, each has different protective strategies, and each carries different experiences and histories. I’m learning that when two nervous systems meet, there can be a natural and possibly lengthy adjustment period. Even though it can be slow, this period is crucial as both systems get accustomed to each other, protective mechanisms soften little by little, and both people begin to feel safer and more trusting of each other. This kind of safety doesn’t happen quickly. It takes time. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* If you love this newsletter, get value out of it, and want to support the time and work that goes into these posts, consider donating to me by becoming a paying subscriber even if you don’t get anything extra. Understand Each Other
Hi there! I’ve been learning to become more securely attached so that I can be in a healthier relationship. As part of this healing process, I have had to unlearn some things, rewire my nervous system, and see how things this time around are different than before. I’m going to try and start sharing tidbits of what I’ve learned so that it can help you be in healthier relationships too ◡̈Here’s one of my first major takeaways:Take the time to slowly get to know each other. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* If you love this newsletter, get value out of it, and want to support the time and work that goes into these posts, consider donating to me by becoming a paying subscriber even if you don’t get anything extra. Choosing Steadiness Over Speed
One of the topics I return to often is slowing down. I seem to be learning this lesson again and again, because I still have a tendency to rush or make big moves. I suspect that it comes from having lived a life of frequent transitions since a young age…moving from place to place, adapting again and again. My body and nervous system are used to being in motion, so slowing down is an ongoing practice for me.Here, I share several practices that helped me feel more grounded and be ok with taking things slower. I hope these reminders and practices will help your life in some way so you can feel more stability, ease, and spaciousness, too. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* If you love this newsletter, get value out of it, and want to support the time and work that goes into these posts, consider donating to me by becoming a paying subscriber even if you don’t get anything extra. In Love With Ordinary Life
Ever since moving to Seattle, I’ve experienced greater degrees of joy and an enjoyment for life. I’m appreciating even more than before the mundane, ordinary, and simple aspects of daily life. You might even say…falling in love with the boringness. A little more joy is a big deal. Sometimes it comes not because everything got easier but because we found a new way to breathe through the hard parts. In the end, we remember what’s good even when it’s tough…it’s all so beautiful, isn’t it? This life of ours. Thanks for reading Tidbits from Liwei! Choosing A Place To Live
Have you ever wondered where you might want to live and build a life? I began exploring this question in 2022. I traveled the world in search of a “perfect” place but what I found along the way was something unexpected. More than a location, this tour around the world led me to learn more about myself, my core values, to be patient with how things are unfolding, to shift my relationship with uncertainty, and to make decisions when various options are all good. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asians and millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves, build healthy and nourishing relationships, and cultivate a spacious yet meaningful life. Honor How Far You’ve Come
Sometimes we are so focused on where we are headed, where we wish we could be, always thinking of what’s next that we forget to take a step back to do two other important things.* Pause, relax, and appreciate where we are.* Look back and honor how far we’ve come.I’ve learned that these 2 practices are so important to nervous system regulation.Coming from Asian culture, I didn’t receive praise so I didn’t learn that it was important, especially in developing confidence and self-worth. And that love doesn’t have to be conditional. I had to learn all of these later for myself as an adult. Maybe you had to as well. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who helps Asian millennials nurture healthier relationships with themselves and their families, so they can navigate Western and Eastern cultural norms and expectations with more self-trust, gentleness, and authenticity. Move Without Force
When these parts want different things, we can’t move forward and become unstuck by forcing our way forward. We could do all the actions that seem right and seem to make it appear as if we’re making progress. Yet we can only move as fast as our slowest part. When we try to override or ignore the part of us that’s scared, we don’t move forward. We just burn out.The real shift happens when we turn toward that part with curiosity and compassion. When we ask it what it needs. When we recognize that it's not trying to ruin our plans. It’s trying to protect us and love us, the only way it knows how. That part deserves to be seen. To be held. To be loved. And when it finally feels safe…when it receives the acknowledgment and care it’s been longing for…it can begin to soften. It can release its grip. Not overnight, but slowly. Naturally. In its own time. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who helps Asian millennials nurture healthier relationships with themselves and their families, so they can navigate Western and Eastern cultural norms and expectations with more self-trust, gentleness, and authenticity. Saying “I Love You”
For those of us who grew up in an Asian culture, it wasn’t very common for family members to say “I love you” to one another or, for that matter, really express any emotions through words. Love was expressed through acts of service, like cooking delicious meals for each other. It was shown through actions, and less so through words. Our physical needs were met with utmost care and devotion. Yet for some of us, our emotional needs weren’t met (not intentionally). To me, our generation is responsible for carrying the work of emotional and nervous system growth, healing, and transformation forward. Because the time has come. We are being called individually and collectively to heal, evolve, and break generational cycles that no longer serve us.Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who helps Asian millennials nurture healthier relationships with themselves and their families, so they can navigate Western and Eastern cultural norms and expectations with more self-trust, gentleness, and authenticity. Happiness Is At Your Doorstep
What if peace and happiness weren’t something you had to earn or achieve? What if it’s in the stillness? We’re so used to rushing. Our nervous systems are usually stuck in survival fight or flight mode. So wired for productivity, achievement, and trying to avoid what we fear. But that’s not how we’re meant to live. That’s not sustainable. What if we rewired ourselves for safety, juicy slow spaciousness, and trust? So life could flow through us? So what we need could come to us instead of us chasing it?*Please note that the background music in the voice recording is “Enjoy Today” by Shizuko Mori. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who helps Asian millennials nurture their relationship with themselves and navigate family and cultural expectations with more self-trust, gentleness, and authenticity. Let It Take the Time It Needs
There’s something sacred about the in-between. The space between the question and answer. The space between where you were and where you’re going. The transition. The threshold. The doorway. It can feel uncomfortable and uncertain but it doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It may be exactly where you need to be. It’s better to pause and listen than to charge ahead in a direction that you might end up not liking. If you’re in a space of not knowing…take a breath. You don’t have to rush. You’re not behind. You’re simply in the unfolding. Be patient. Let it take the time it needs. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asians and millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves, build healthy and nourishing relationships, and cultivate a spacious yet meaningful life. Navigating Uncertainty to Find Meaningful Work
About 8 years ago, I landed a job that seemed like a dream. It had great pay, top-notch benefits, good work-life balance, and I was working with a great team. It was at a tech company in beautiful San Francisco which was an ideal place to build a tech career since it was a tech hub. The job was everything my parents had hoped for me and everything society told me I should want. But something was missing for me. Despite this job being the perfect package, the work felt hollow and meaningless. In this episode, I talk about some of the fears I faced with going through a career transition and along the way, built resilience, self-trust, and found my way to more meaningful work! Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. The Lesser Known Side of Me
Most people knew another version of me. The one who was put together, winning at life, fun and loving, warm and giving, and conflict-avoidant. But that was only part of me. I had another side, too. The part that could cry and feel sad about things, or feel fear and uncertainty, or have insecurities. I just never let most people see it.Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. Lessons from Loss
My pet budgies have taught me so much about love, loss, gratitude, acceptance, freedom, and then more love (again). Their fleeting lives reminded me to cherish life – life is so precious and life is a miracle. Back in the day, I didn’t let myself love. I put up a wall and armour around my heart because I feared the pain of loss. After many many heartbreaks, I learned that it’s possible to open up and love again and again. In this episode, I talk about how I shifted my values in life based on lessons from loss. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. My Medicine
Most of the time, the medicine I offer is intangible, unseen, unmeasurable by scientific standards. It’s felt.No matter which form my medicine takes, I know it will always spill out in the way it needs to to my family, my friends, my community, and the world. As long as I live with the utmost authenticity to what is most alive in me in every moment (today, this year, and this lifetime), that in itself is enough.Whether it impacts one person or many is beyond my control. The only thing I can control is choosing to stay true to me. The best medicine heals not only others but ourselves too! Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. Connecting With The Heart Space
Here is something that is not often said and taught in society. True joy, serenity, and love aren’t something that you have to force yourself to create or feel. In a world that often tells us we need to “create” happiness, peace, or love, it’s easy to fall into the trap of forcing ourselves to feel a certain way, even when it doesn’t reflect our true inner state. Real joy, peace, and love come not from pushing ourselves to feel differently, but from settling into who we are, right here and now. Beauty And Goodness Are Everywhere
When we begin to believe that beauty and goodness are everywhere around us, we start to notice this in our lives more and more. What we believe in has a huge impact on our lived experience because we often consciously and unconsciously validate what we believe until it feels more and more true. Start to pay attention to what stories you tell yourself. As we live our lives, may we remember to notice and appreciate quiet acts of goodness and the people who bring them to life. Perhaps next time even look someone in the eye and share your heartfelt gratitude with them. It takes just one sentence to bring a smile to someone’s face, to make someone’s day so much better, and to make someone feel deeply appreciated. In doing so, we add a little more light and gratitude to our world. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. Embracing Duality
I believe our bodies are a hologram of the universe. When we begin to understand ourselves more, we can understand the intricacies of the families, communities, and the world in which we live. As I’ve been navigating my journey, I’ve had to face and learn to accept dichotomies that can exist within myself. As I’ve had to do this more and more, I’ve come to accept the fact that dichotomies can also exist in the world in which we live – and that they don’t have to be seen as being in conflict and war with one another, but that they are parts of the same whole existing to keep balance. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. At A Crossroads
I have somehow found the courage to move forward in a direction that I never in my life would have imagined I would do. I am in the final stages of establishing and registering my business in China and will soon have my business license! Eeek! I hope to bring life coaching to China – to guide people to come back to their hearts. It is very much needed. I am not sure if it will be successful or if it will go anywhere. But I don’t know unless I try right? If this venture fails, I will have no regrets for trying and if it succeeds, well then it’s something worth celebrating because it means I will have made a positive impact on Chinese culture and people. And that is worth pursuing. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. Meet Yourself Where You Are
Healing isn’t about rushing to a destination where all wounds are healed, or where we’re a perfected version of ourselves. It’s about meeting ourselves where we are and accepting ourselves as we are, with all our imperfections, pain, and emotions. Cross-Cultural Dating
My experience of dating a Chinese guy for the first time has been so different from my experiences of dating in the West. He was so wonderful and amazing in so many ways; yet, it was also heartbreaking in so many ways. Navigating a cross-cultural relationship has revealed the differences in dating norms, pace, and mindset in looking at the various factors considered when choosing a partner. Factors that are less emphasized in Western culture. Chinese culture, in particular, places a much stronger emphasis on adhering to certain family and societal expectations, which partly influenced our decision to part ways. This experience has deepened my compassion for those who may struggle to reconcile personal desires with family and cultural pressures. And strengthened my belief that it's time to move beyond outdated beliefs and practices—not just for ourselves, but for future generations as well. I envision a society where individuals have more freedom and support to choose for themselves what is truly best for their happiness, well-being, growth, and fulfillment. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. Growth Through Intimate Relationships
In our interactions with those close to us, whether we find ourselves calm or agitated is rarely because of someone else. Instead, these states often reveal something within ourselves that needs attention. Family members, romantic partners, or close friends can act as catalysts for our growth and healing, triggering responses that highlight areas where we need to look deeper. It's natural for human beings to experience a range of emotions. Both calm and agitation play crucial roles – they are not opposites but part of the same spectrum of human experience. What's important is how we handle these states when they arise. By listening to your body and tuning into your intuition, you can learn to address your needs based on the present moment. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen their relationship with themselves and gently free themselves from unhelpful expectations, patterns, and fears so that they can have the life and relationships they desire. Crawling In Love
The crickets chirp day and night rejoicing that this summer heat is to their liking. Wuhan is unbearably hot, humid, crowded, and the traffic is terrible. It is nothing like the perfect place that I had envisioned with my reasoning mind that this is what I would come to love. Far from it. Yet quite unexpectedly, I’m crawling in love with being in China and with the people. Happiness doesn’t come about when your reasoning mind convinces you that something is good. I’m discovering that true happiness is felt deeply in your body and heart even when it doesn’t make sense why it would be the case in your head. Soulful happiness happens when you are living in alignment with your heart. Doing so melts away all preconceived ideas of what brings you happiness that is coming from your ego. If you have a feeling that there might be more to life than what you’re experiencing, you might be at the cusp of thinking something in you or your life may need to change. Deep down inside, you might already know what it is. You may have thought about it a lot already. But for true change to occur, you must also take action. Perhaps you need extra support and accountability from someone who’s got your back to help you navigate through resistance and fear with gentleness and compassion. I have 2 spaces available for 1-on-1 coaching. If you are interested in working with me as your coach, please reach out to me or complete my pre-coaching questionnaire, and will be in touch with you. It would be a privilege for me to witness you and your journey. My pre-coaching questionnaire: https://alaliwei.com/precoaching-questionnaireHere are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen self-love and bridge intergenerational & cultural gaps, leaving them feeling more joyfully connected to themselves, to family, and to community, as well as empowered to live in greater alignment with their personal values and needs. We All Hit Rough Patches At Times
Know that you’re not alone in facing rough patches even when you’re pursuing your biggest goals and dreams. We all go through bright sunny days and we all weather storms as part of the journey. When you pick yourself back up and keep going, it reaffirms that you still care a lot about your goal and dream. And it takes courage to go after something big and bold. It is worth all the steps, all the highs, and all the lows. And it’s easier to move forward when you know someone else has got your back. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen self-love and bridge intergenerational & cultural gaps, leaving them feeling more joyfully connected to themselves, to family, and to community, as well as empowered to live in greater alignment with their personal values and needs. Purrmione
This is Purrmione. She is very curious, playful, and communicative. But she wasn’t this way when I first received her. But I gave her space to let her be. Little by little, she started to come out of her hiding place more often. It is so heart-warming seeing her feel safe to open up to me. Because now she gets to be the curious, sweet, and playful cat she was meant to be. And I have the privilege to witness and get to know her real self that she’s now showing to me.Like animals, the most young and tender part of ourselves that may have closed up needs our gentle attention and care before it feels ready to open up and be curious to come out and play again. Holding space in this way is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and one another. Because we bloom when we are treated with the utmost gentleness, patience, encouragement, and warmth. It is also the best gift you can give to yourself. My Ego Is Humbled
Big soul lessons can come from anywhere. My cousin, her friend, and I traveled through Inner Mongolia for almost 5 days. Our driver completely dispelled the judgments I had carried with me about people who live in China, showed me what matters the most to me in a relationship (not social status or money), and reminded me to stay in service from my heart and soul. He showed me that I don’t need to do anything big to make big changes. The smallest acts of pure kindness can have profound impacts. From the most unexpected corner of the world, a most ordinary human being has taught me lessons in the most simple, yet extraordinary way. He has been a teacher for my soul and I am humbled. I bow in deep gratitude and reverence to his beautiful soul. Navigating China
I’m here in Wuhan and China in general for an unknown period of time. It turns out I’m here to lay down some of the foundations of my life coaching business in China and spend more time living out here. The transition is uncomfortable but I'm happy and finding it in the most ordinary moments.I invite you to also slow down and take your eyes off your screen to notice what is happening around you. Maybe it’s 2 friends walking down the street in conversation laughing together. It might not be obvious but happiness, joy, and connection can be found in the most ordinary everyday moments. Why not slow down and lift your eyes to the world around you to start to notice it?Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen self-love and bridge intergenerational & cultural gaps, leaving them feeling more joyfully connected to themselves, to family, and to community, as well as empowered to live in greater alignment with their personal values and needs. Be A Baby
Where is play in our lives? Where and when do we get to be a child that gets to have fun, learn to laugh, learn to feel joy, learn to explore our interests, learn to discover, learn to create, and learn to be curious about more things than just what’s in the textbooks?Play is vital to our well-being and integral to our self-love. We are in a period of great change where we need to introduce more play into our routine, into the foundations of our culture, into our conversations, into our children’s lives. Building Community
I’m feeling the desire to build a nourishing community because a lot of us want to feel more deeply connected, seen, heard, and supported. I welcome all of you to my community. In particular, Asian ladies and gentlemen, young and old, those based in the East and based in the West. We can only bridge generational and cultural gaps when different generations and cultures are in a place sitting together in a community to share what they’re going through and healing, listening, and truly understanding one another together, not as silos.I can’t create a nourishing community on my own. I need you too. I hope we’ll create one together that feels uplifting, supportive, and fun for all of us. I welcome you to join me for my 1st virtual community call. It’ll be 1 hour of sharing, connection, maybe some tears and laughs, and Q&A. Event Details below:Date and Time — Friday, May 24th: 6PM PST, 9PM EST (United States) / Saturday, May 25th: 11AM AEST (Australia), 9AM (China)This is a space for you to be able to speak what you’ve been holding in, to be vulnerable to share what is on your heart. I will prepare questions and/or a theme for each of you to reflect on and answer during each event; however, feel free to share anything that you have a desire to be seen about. Some topics/themes we may touch on are relationships, healing, emotions, entrepreneurship, spirituality, etc. I ask that all participants have their video cameras on during this call because it helps foster connection when we can see each other’s faces; after all, half of communication is non-verbal! Everyone who joins this call will have a chance to share whether as a whole or in smaller groups. Your Mission, Vision, and Values
If you are setting out to create a business for yourself as an entrepreneur or even if you’re creating something smaller scale through a long-term project or launch, I think it’s important to define your why. What is it about this endeavor that motivates you? Putting numbers or dollar goals aside, what is the core essence of what you’re doing that is coming from your heart? Why does doing what you do matter to the people you are doing it for? Before starting anything like a business, what is your mission statement, your vision, and your values? Shedding To Make Way For The New
Becoming a new version of yourself is like breaking out of an eggshell. It can feel uncomfortable and painful as you crack out of what is familiar in order to open up to a bigger world of possibilities that bring feelings of liberation and expansion. This is the power of deep intergenerational and embodied healing. It is looking at the patterns that you’re subconsciously holding on to through your energy, your behavior, and your mindset that is keeping you small and keeping you stuck. Those uncomfortable emotions and feelings of resistance that you’ve been pushing away are in fact the gateway to the change and liberation you’ve been yearning for. You and I are privileged. We have access to resources, information, money, people, and time. So what are you going to do with this precious life of yours? What sets you on fire? What moves you to step up and show up and speak up for what you believe in? Let’s not play small anymore. We came into existence on Earth to make an impact. I am emboldened to show up. Will you? There’s no better time than now to step into the new vibrant version of you because the world, more than ever, needs you. It’s time to face what you’ve been running away from and I’m here to support you through it.Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports millennials to deepen self-love and bridge intergenerational & cultural gaps, leaving them feeling more joyfully connected to themselves, to family, and to community, as well as empowered to live in greater alignment with their personal values and needs. A Deeper Commitment To My Coaching Practice
I’ve spent the last month honing down and refining my coaching niche until it feels “just right” in my heart as preparation for my journey ahead. I went through at least 15 revisions to get here, testing every word choice and feeling whether it resonated deeply in my heart. After all, this is my why for becoming a coach that I will return to when I feel lost and when I bump into obstacles. It is my north-star that will keep me fulfilled and energized. And I will continue this practice of feeling whether my niche feels true every year because as I evolve and change, my niche and business may as well. To hear tangible examples of what deepening self-love and bridging intergenerational and cultural gaps entails, listen to this episode! My coaching mission statement:I am a heart-centered coach who supports millennials to deepen self-love and bridge intergenerational and cultural gaps, leaving them feeling more joyfully connected to themselves, to family, and to community, as well as empowered to live in greater alignment with their personal values and needs. To learn more about me as a coach, visit my website at alaliwei.com. I wanted to share with you a tangible example of one of the fruits of many months and years of my healing work that I have done to bridge intergenerational and cultural gaps within my family. Speaking Up As A Chapter Closes
Since November 2023, I’ve had several conversations with my parents and had written a letter to my dad about how I didn’t want to continue working for their small business and how I felt pulled to keep pursuing my own purpose and path. The conversations were not easy, in fact, I would cry and feel myself shaking as I expressed myself. In this episode, I talk about the reasons why breaking a pattern, programming, or a cycle is uncomfortable and hard. As I experience this period of transition, I feel excitement and fear of the horizons opening up as well as the sadness and gratitude of a period of my life closing. I’m letting the complex emotions dance and move through me, not missing a single beat. This is what it feels like to be alive. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* I am a heart-centered coach who supports Asian millennials to deepen self-love and bridge intergenerational & cultural gaps, leaving them feeling more joyfully connected to themselves and family, as well as empowered to live in greater alignment with their personal values and needs. Why I Chose to Pursue Coaching Instead of Therapy
In this episode, I talk about who therapy is appropriate for and who coaching is appropriate for. Then I share my top 5 reasons for falling in love with coaching and pursuing coaching. I spent the last 8+ months in training to be a trauma-informed and heart-centered coach. It is powerful, uplifting, and transformative. Most of all, it gave me an experience that was different and lacking from what I experienced within my Asian family and culture. It is a model for how I want to show up differently in the world for others. And I want to bring this experience to the Asian community. Sometimes Doubt Can Creep In…
I’m curious…if I follow my innermost truth and keep backing my heart when so many others seem to have abandoned it, what journey will it take me on? I get to go through the breadth and range of the human experience. I experience the gift of tears. AND I experience the gift of joy. I want to balance effort and ease as I experiment with stretching out of my comfort zone in a gentle and more easeful way (and a more supported way). Do what feels stretchy and yet do it in a way where I feel I can still breathe, have space, and not feel overwhelmed. This is what I am inviting in this year.Listen more to this episode on the doubt (and confidence) that creeps in when you walk your own path. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* If you love this newsletter, get value out of it, and want to support the time and work that goes into these posts, consider donating to me by becoming a paying subscriber even if you don’t get anything extra. Love and Hope
Merry Christmas to you! Sending you love and hope as we close out this year!Just several days ago, we crossed our winter solstice. Amidst the heaviness and darkest of days, warm and radiant light started to flood back into our lives again. Hope. Yes, there have been moments this year that have felt utterly dark, gloomy, and disconnected. Be Okay With Letting Go Of Control
I talk about my experience of transitioning from the Bay Area to Florida. After this whole process and standing where I am now, I realize that I can lean in more to trust that life will unfold and already is beautifully unfolding for me. I don’t need to always be in the driver’s seat. I also don’t need to pressure myself to reach for something if I am not truly ready – it’ll eventually become more clear and more easy when the moment is right. I can let go of some of my resistance, my gripping, and my expectations of where I want to be or think I should be. Because I realize that after 4 grueling months of internal tension, I’m exactly where I want and need to be – I just didn’t know it yet. I share this part of my journey with you because in some ways big and small we are all going through transitions. I hope my insights on trust as well as letting go of driving and resisting can help your journey feel more easeful and joyful. Here are ways you can support me and my work:* If you love this newsletter, get value out of it, and want to support the time and work that goes into these posts, consider donating to me by becoming a paying subscriber even if you don’t get anything extra. I wanted to share with you 3 big lessons I learned as a result of not holding space well, and then learning from that so it can be done better. Tidbits from Liwei is a reader-supported publication. Slow Down And Take In The Moment

Let me share some of my experiences and lessons that I’ve learned along the way.My major takeaways from this past month are to slow down, enjoy what’s present in life, and take the pressure off yourself to be further ahead than where you are. Experiencing the Contrast
Exploring other possibilities can be both challenging and rewarding. To me, part of living a full life is being open to other opportunities and possibilities rather than always staying in the same lane. There are benefits to this and I discuss it in this podcast. It is my hope that you decide to journey through the curves, hills, and valleys on your path to find what truly matters to you and consciously take steps to walk in alignment with your own values and truths.Tidbits from Liwei is a reader-supported publication. Trusting Our Intuition
Trusting your intuition can sometimes be hard because it requires an openness to experience possibilities that might seemingly go against anything you are planning, hoping for, or expecting. I have some tips to help you trust and develop your intuition. These are all things that I am also continuously practicing. The mind works using logic and reasoning, so it only speaks and understands this language. Thus, the techniques I mention use reasoning to help the mind relax and see evidence that following our intuition can be a good thing. Once you’ve practiced the above, you can start to let your intuition guide you for bigger decisions; plus, following it will become more automatic! Here are ways you can support me and my work:* If you love this newsletter, get value out of it, and want to support the time and work that goes into these posts, consider donating to me by become a paying subscriber even if you don’t get anything extra. Letting Go
As we go through change, we inevitably have to let go. If we’re letting go of something that is dear and precious to us, this process can be challenging. So I wanted to share how I’ve made the process a little bit easier for myself. There are 2 major elements that I’ve found that have helped me: 1. Be curious! 2. Be gentleRemember to be curious and tender with yourself when letting go. Being curious helps you be attuned to your experience and being gentle gives you space and time. Don’t force yourself if you aren’t ready for it! Before you know it, you’ll feel light and free because you’ve let go, and you don’t even know at what moment it happened! I’d like to hear from you. If you’re going through a letting go process, how is it going for you?Tidbits from Liwei is a reader-supported publication.
