Ryan Johnson used the weight throw as a wrecking ball this season. The Iowa Hawkeye won all 9 of his indoor competitions in 2026. Including his throw of 25.66m that broke the NCAA record at the Big Ten Championships. Ryan followed completed the sweep at the D1 NCAA Championships 2 weeks later with a throw of 25.64. Coach Frontier was able to catch up with Ryan and talk about his start as thrower, journey to hammer and weight throwing and what lies ahead.
