Show Notes

In this episode, the prof brings up the recent passing of Pastor John Tweed, who was a spiritual father to many in the church and especially to Kyle. After Pastor Borg commemorates John’s life and ministry, the 3GTers launch into a discussion about the importance of having fathers in the faith.

The guys first share experiences of older men who have strengthened them personally in the faith. They then talk about the Biblical examples of discipleship. From there they point out how the church is a family, and how spiritually-minded parenting relationships should arise organically. Then they address how the intentionality of the church’s structure with elders should lead to nurturing relationships. They offer advise on how to seek out help from older believers and the right heart posture we should have in the church toward one another. Finally, to put the T into 3GT, they address how the theology of fathering others is based on the relationship of the members of the Trinity with one another and the church. And all along the way, they act like brothers as they get some of their customary pokes and jokes in.

So join along in this episode of 3GT as one sweet saint is remembered and all saints are encouraged to learn more about their spiritual family!
