S8 Ep 53The Words to Speak
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 4th of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Gospel of Luke 21:15. Jesus says: “…for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries (all your enemies) will not be able to contradict or resist.” He will give you the words to speak when it is needed. Don’t worry about that. Now, remember the waiter, yes - his name was Stephen. He was confounding all the Pharisees with the word of God, and so they accused him of speaking evil against the Temple and against Jehovah. Acts 6:15: “And all who sat in the council, (they were judging him now) looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel.” I want to tell you something now. You don’t have to defend yourself. You just have to spend time in the presence of Jesus and He will give you the words to speak to defend yourself. He will give you godly wisdom and counsel. And do you know what will happen? When you start speaking from your heart, it doesn’t matter how clever your adversaries are, they will be confounded because that is what happened to the High Priests when they were judging Stephen. They saw him and his face looked like the face of an angel. The word of God is very powerful when it is spoken through the mouth of an ordinary person. Remember David Wilkerson, the Cross and the Switchblade? The skinny preacher who went down and started preaching to the gangsters in downtown New York? Nicky Cruz was the leader of the Mau Mau gang. David Wilkerson said to him, “Nicky, God loves you,” and Nicky said to David Wilkerson, “Preacher, get away from me, otherwise I will cut you with my flick knife into a hundred pieces.” And David Wilkerson says, “And Nicky, every piece will tell you the same thing, that Jesus loves you.” And with that, that hardened gangster just crumbled and David Wilkerson led him to Jesus.Do you know that the old gentleman is now in his eighties? He is still an evangelist, preaching the love of God. Don’t worry about what you will say. Just love people, and the Lord will put the words into your mouth. It doesn’t matter who it is.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

S8 Ep 52Good Friday
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Good Friday, the 3rd of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. I’m going to read from the Gospel of John 15:13-14 (Amplified Version): No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends. You are my friends if you keep on doing what I command you.” This is a very, very solemn day. It’s a good day to come aside, wait and think and meditate on what Jesus has done for you and for me today. If He had not died on that cross, we would never, ever be able to receive eternal life. Have you thought about that? God became flesh. He died for you and me so that we have an opportunity to live forever.I went to Israel, the one time I went, I can’t remember exactly the year, I went to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City of Jerusalem. I know there are two places where they say that Jesus was buried. The one is in the Garden Tomb which is very special and very intimate and the other is a huge church in the middle of the Old City. As I walked through those doors, I sat on a little bench just inside the door and I looked up, and on the other side of that passage there are steps that go up to where they say, the Lord Jesus was crucified, and I’ve never done it before but I have felt so overwhelmed by the presence of God and what Jesus did for me, I started to weep and I didn’t just weep gently. I wept and my dear wife, Jill, had to put her arm around me and comfort me and she said, ”Are you alright?” and I just nodded. The massive price that Christ paid for all of my sins! I want to say to you today, sit down somewhere, please. Have a cup of tea or coffee and think and give glory to God for what He has done for you and for me.We had a Mighty Men Conference on the farm here, many years ago. We called it, Dying to Live. If you want to live, you have to die, die to self and start to live for Christ because that’s what Jesus did for you and for me on Easter Friday when He was crucified, an innocent Man, for our sins. I want to pray for you today. Maybe you’ve never done it before. Jesus, please forgive me for I am a sinner and I have messed up so badly. Please give me another chance. Thank you, that through your death I have an opportunity to have eternal life. I ask this in Your precious name, amen. God bless you and have a peaceful Easter Friday. Goodbye.

S8 Ep 51Serve One Another
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 2nd of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Gospel of John 13:14: “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet”.Spoken by the Prince of Glory humbled Himself and washed the dirty, dusty feet of His servants, His disciples. What an example! Then we go to Acts 6:5: “And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit,…” What happened? The apostles were so busy trying to feed the widows and the orphans and take care of the needy that they were not spending enough time in prayer and preparation and preaching. They said, “We will have to bring some men in that can do the menial jobs so that we can spend time in the presence of God. And who did they choose? They chose Stephen and a number of other men. Stephen was a man who became the first martyr in the New Testament. Folks, we need to understand something - If we want to really be used by God, we must humble ourselves. We must serve one another. We have a men's prayer meeting early in the morning, and the boys come together. This morning we were at that meeting and what a beautiful meeting it was! A lot of these men are ordinary working men. And women, I want to say to you as well, I just love that housewife. Oh yes, yes - what a job you have got! Mary, the mother of Jesus, was a housewife. She was chosen to serve, to wait upon the greatest Man who has ever walked on the face of the earth and He is coming back soon. As we contemplate Easter, Easter Friday will be tomorrow, as we think about that, l want to say to you, let us start to serve one another. Men always banter. Do you know what banter means? It doesn’t mean that they are sarcastic, but they joke with each other, that is what men do, and this morning I had to laugh because the electrician in the group did a bit of plumbing and the plumber wasn’t very happy with it. He said, “You are coming into my territory”, and they had a good banter and we all had a great laugh, but do you know what they do, both of those men? They serve their fellowmen. They fix the electrics when they break, they fix the dirty plumbing when it needs to be done, and they do it unto the Lord.Today, let us be waiters and serve one another as we think about Easter.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

S8 Ep 50Speak Out
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 1st of April, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Acts 5:42: “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” That is just after they had been given a severe beating and told by the High Priest not to mention the name of Jesus Christ again. And what happened? They went straight out and they were rejoicing and they started to tell the people about their beloved Saviour. When was the last time that you and I stood up in public and said, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of salvation to those who believe, first the Jew, then the Gentile”? Romans 1:16, and then that beautiful scripture that you find in Romans 5:3: “…but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”Oh folks, we need to speak it out! I will never forget preaching in the Eastern Cape, many years ago. I love those farmers down there, and at half time I decided to shoot into the bathroom and an old farmer came in. He said to me, “Young boy, when you preach, you don’t have to sweat so much.” (In other words, “you don’t have to try so hard.”) I said, “Oh sir” I said, “Wait for the second half. You haven’t heard anything yet!”There is nothing like perseverance, there is nothing like persecution, to get you to stand up for the Lord. Look what is happening in the persecuted church in the eastern part of the world. We think of Iran, the amount of people who are coming to Christ. We think of China. These are the places where people are not ashamed of the Gospel. They are dying for their faith. I have decided to follow Jesus,I have decided to follow Jesus,I have decided to follow Jesus,No turning back, praise the Lord, no turning back.If you can’t say it, whistle it, but do something! Jesus bless you today as you speak it out.Bye.

S8 Ep 49Run the Race
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 31st of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in Philippians 3:12: “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.” What a beautiful scripture! Then the next one just to confirm it, is found in the Book of Hebrews 12:1: “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,…”Oh my dear friend, there is no stopping now, no ways! There is no resting, but rather we are pressing on towards our eternal home in Heaven. You say I cannot take it anymore. The road is too hard, it is too steep, it is too narrow, it is too stony. Keep on keeping on. Do not allow any distractions to hold you back. I am thinking of the mighty Comrades Marathon - 90 odd kilometres. When you're tired, and the heat is bearing down on you and those hills are looking absolutely impossible to run over, you say to yourself, “I can’t anymore”. And then what happens? A courtesy vehicle rides up, and lovely coffee, the door opens and the people inside say, ‘Look, you are looking very tired. Don’t you want to stop?” But you know what happens, when you step into that vehicle, they take the number off your chest and you are disqualified. The race is over for you. Do not stop. Do not let that vehicle tempt you to throw in the towel. Then you carry on, and you carry on, and then all of a sudden you come up next to a beautiful shady tree on the side of the road, and you feel, “If I just sit down for a minute and have a rest I’ll be fine.” Don’t do it because you will never get up again. Keep on running the race which the Lord is running with you. You are not running on your own. Keep your eye on the finish line and never look back and I want to tell you, you will make it to the end. There is a cloud of witnesses waiting for you at the finish line, all your loved ones who have gone before you. They are clapping. Keep running, you are nearly there, and the worst thing of course is to look behind you. When you look behind you, you normally don’t finish the race. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and He will see you through.Have a wonderful day, keep running the race and remember if Christ is for you, there is no man who will stand against you. Jesus bless you and goodbye.

S8 Ep 48A Chance
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Monday morning, the 30th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Isaiah 8:10: “…God is with us.” Isn’t that a beautiful comfort to know? And then we go to Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Isn’t that a beautiful reassurance? Lastly, we go to Acts 5:39. You see, what had happened was that the High Priest and his people were trying to persecute Peter and the apostles, and there was a tremendous fight going on. Then there was a wise man amongst the elders. His name was Gamaliel. When they were arguing about whether we should put them to death or put them in jail? And of course, the jail couldn’t hold them! Gamaliel said to them, to all the elders and the High Priest in Acts 5:39: ‘…if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.” We need to give people a chance. We need to give them an opportunity to prove themselves. If it is of God, it will work. If it is not of God, it will fail anyway. You see, I am a farmer. We’ll have a newborn calf. It may not be the prettiest of all the calves, but give it a chance to grow, and it will surprise you. If you are a fruit farmer, doesn’t the Bible say leave that tree for the fourth year before you start to reap it for commercial use. We have a little school that is part of us here, this school has a headmaster, not so young anymore, but he has been with us for many, many years and sometimes I would go to him and say, “I really believe we need to give this young man an opportunity. He has failed, but we need to give him a chance.” And the headmaster would say to me, “Just leave him for a couple of years and let’s see the kind of fruit that he produces.” Wise man!I want to say to you today, maybe it is your son, maybe it is your daughter and you don’t know what to do because you are trusting that they are going to change, but they don’t seem to be changing, give them an opportunity. That employee, don’t just write him off. Give him a chance to prove himself and he might end up as your best worker. Let’s be like Gamaliel today. Let us not be so quick to cut the tree down, to sell the calf, to write that child off. Let us give them an opportunity to prove themselves and you know something, nine times out of ten, with lots of prayer and love, they will surprise us.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

S8 Ep 47Speak Life
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 29th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in Numbers 23:8: “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?” Then we go to verse 20. This is now Balaam speaking to Balak, his king: “Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.” Wow! The king, Balak, wanted Balaam to curse the Children of Israel, but he had a direction from God, not to curse God’s people, but to bless them.Today, we want to speak clearly about being a light in a world that is full of negativity and negative talk. In Matthew 5:14, the Lord Jesus says: “You are the light of the world.” We are not called to curse but rather to be a blessing to people. If you have nothing good to say about somebody, rather don’t say anything at all. I want to tell you a story about two young boys who live in the United States of America. Their mother spoke life over those two boys. They had no father, she was a single parent. She worked in a restaurant. I think she held down a couple of jobs to keep these young boys at school. She told them that they had to learn. She spoke life into them. The one became a mechanical engineer, I believe, and the other one became one of the top neurosurgeons, that’s a brain surgeon, in the world. His name is Dr Ben Carson. He led a team of surgeons, the first known in the world, to separate siamese twins who had been joined at the back of the head, and they both lived. Why? Because of a mother who spoke life and blessing over her two young sons. She was an uneducated lady herself, but she knew Jesus Christ and she persevered with Him. Today, let us be a blessing. Let us not be a curse. If we have nothing good to say, don’t say anything. Let us rather start speaking life and not death. That is what Balaam said. He said to the king, “I cannot curse God’s people.” We cannot curse people, folks, we have got to bless them and pray for them and see the good in them, and Jesus Christ will turn the situation around. God bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

S8 Ep 46Little Foxes
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 28th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the Song of Solomon 2:15:“Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes.” Beware of little foxes - I read this from the great man of God, James Hudson Taylor, who took the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as a young man, by himself, to China. They said he spoke Mandarin better than any other missionary in China. He was a great and very humble man of God. He was responsible for sending something like a thousand families to China to preach the Gospel, and he had no source of income. No missionary organisation sent him. He went on his own, and he told his people, “Beware of little foxes.”What are we talking about? We are talking about those little compromises that we have with the world. That’s right, just one small drink won’t harm anybody, and that is how the alcoholic gets started. Just one small smoke of marijuana and that is how you could become a drug addict. Just one small indulgence with a woman could be the beginning of the end of your marriage. That little voice that said, “Oh, it’s not so bad. You don’t have to really pay that account. Just leave it, and it will go away.” “You don’t have to pay the taxman, I mean, the taxman does nothing for you.” The law requires that we obey everything. The fruit is eventually spoiled if you continue to allow these little foxes to contaminate your crop, whatever it might be. I know this as a farmer. We have to be on the job. We cannot allow any form of infection or disease to come in amongst our animals. We have to be diligent in everything we do, and if we do that, then God promises us that we will have a bountiful crop. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

S8 Ep 45God's Word
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 27th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Isaiah 47:12:“Stand now with your enchantments and the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth—Perhaps you will be able to profit, perhaps you will prevail.” The Lord speaking through Isaiah. Trust in your enchantments and maybe, maybe, you’ll profit by it. We don’t think so, do we? Then we go to the Book of Numbers 23:8: “How shall I curse whom God has not cursed? And how shall I denounce whom the Lord has not denounced?” We’re talking about the Children of Israel. Balak wanted the prophet Balaam to curse the Children of Israel, but he was not a fool. He said, ”How can I curse what God has not cursed and how can I denounce what the Lord has not denounced?”I believe the Lord is saying to us today and this is a special word for certain people including myself. There is no security in the wisdom of the world. The is no security in fortune telling, old wives tales, horoscopes, etc. There is no security in lucky charms and there is no security in false prophets. Whoever comes and tells you something, ask them one question, ”Can you show me where it says that in the Bible?” And if they say, ”No, I can’t show you but somebody told me,” disregard it. It’s the word of God in these last days that will keep you and me from straying and going the wrong way. Even Balaam would not prophesy against the Lord.If you look at Proverbs 3:5-6, we know it very well: ”Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”So it doesn’t matter who it is. It doesn’t matter if it’s some person with a great reputation. If they cannot back it up with the word of God, please disregard it.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

S8 Ep 44Love
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Thursday morning, the 26th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to 1 Corinthians 13:1: Paul says: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” Then we go to verse 13: “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”There is no doubt about it, it is the most powerful force on earth because it is God. God is love. He who does not love God does not know God. Many years ago, I had the privilege of speaking to a large group of Welsh farmers, their wives and their children, in a big agricultural hall. I will never forget it. They started to sing that well-known hymn that originated in the Welsh Revival at the turn of the last century. But they didn’t sing it in English. They sang it in Welsh, a beautiful language. And I want to sing it to you, just the first verse, and think of these words. Here is love vast as the ocean,Loving kindness as the flood,When the Prince of Life, my ransom,Shed for me His precious blood. Who His love will not remember?Who can cease to sing His praise? He shall never be forgotten,Through Heaven’s everlasting day. After that hymn was sung, I was weeping, I could not speak. Such love! Love is also powerful. Do you know the story of the lady who was in the kitchen? Her son was working on a car outside, and the jack that was holding up the car, a huge American limousine, slipped and fell, and he was trapped underneath the car, and obviously, he shouted out for help. His mother ran out, a little lady, and picked up the car so that they could get the young man out from underneath it. The car weighed 3,000 lbs. How is that possible? It is only possible through love. Such love she had for her son that she did something that defied gravity completely, and she held that car up until the neighbour came and pulled the boy out. Today, go out and love one another because that is what Jesus said.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

S8 Ep 43Our Father
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 25th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to the New Testament, Matthew 6:9: ”In this manner, therefore, pray, Our Father in heaven,…” What a beautiful sound in Father’s ear to hear his children cry out to Him: “Our Father who art in heaven…” That’s for young men and young women, old men and old women, and especially the children. It’s the best name by which we can think of God as our Father.Martin Luther said, ”It is a loving, deep, sweet, heart-touching name, for the name of Father is, in its nature, full of inborn sweetness and comfort." As a father myself, I love to hear the name, when my children, grandchildren call me “Father”. It makes me feel so wanted, so warm. You might say, ”But Uncle Angus, I don’t have a father.” You might not have a father on earth, oh, but you’ve got a Father in heaven who created you, and He is just looking forward to seeing you at home time. Can you imagine the day when Father says, ”Welcome home John, welcome home Mary”? What a day that will be! In Zulu we say, ”Baba.” In the Xhosa language we say, ”Tata.” I have many men that have asked me to mentor them, five hundred and forty at the last count. I’m not their father. No, no, I don’t even pretend to be their father, but I do mentor them. Many of them don’t have an earthly father so they call me “Dad,” but they don’t call me “Father.” I love them dearly. When I get a message from them to say, ”Dad, we just want to tell you, we were praying for you this morning.” It touches my heart deeply.Maybe there’s a lady out there who says, ”I’ve never had a father. I don’t know what a father’s like.” Oh, spend time in your closet speaking to Him and you’ll get to know Him so well. He is such a very special God. He’s your protector. He is your soon-coming king. He is your all-in-all. If you acknowledge Him as Father, you’ll have nothing to worry about.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

S8 Ep 42Go Into All the World
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 24th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Zachariah 4:6: “Not by might nor by power, but by My (Holy) Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.“ Then we go to the Book of Acts 1:8. This is Jesus speaking:”But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” What a commission! Now we must think about this. A hundred and twenty ordinary people, and they are hiding in the upper room because they are afraid they are going to be murdered, there is no accomplished theologian amongst them, there is no multi-millionaire amongst them. They are ordinary people, women and men, working people who go about their daily chores. The Holy Spirit comes into the room and changes their lives forever. I want to suggest something to you. This is not a man’s idea. This is not a spreadsheet you put out on a table and say, ”OK, now this is how we’re going to do it. We’ll go here if we can afford it…” No, they had no game plan. It was a God idea. A hundred and twenty people, that’s all, and He said, ”Go into all the world.” And the Bible tells us they turned the world upside down. There were no cell phones. There were no iPads. There were no computers, nothing! They just went in faith by the power of the Holy Spirit and they turned the world upside down, from Caesar’s palace right down to the man in the street, and they went all over the world. Thomas went to India and he was speared to death as a martyr. Andrew, James, John eventually, every one of them died a martyr's death. They paid the full price and I think that’s maybe where the secret is. The Lord is looking for a man or a woman who is prepared to obey the Holy Spirit, whatever He tells you. Maybe you’re sitting in an old age home. You say, ”Angus, what can I do? I can’t even walk anymore.” I tell you what you can do. You can do the most important job. Praying. Remember when men work, they work, but when men pray, God works, and God worked through these hundred and twenty ordinary people who went right around the globe to the ends of the earth. That’s what the Lord said.I want to challenge you today, come on, we don’t have much time left. Jesus is on His way. He’s coming back, I’m telling you now. We need to work while it’s still day because the night is coming when we can’t work anymore. Let us stand up. Let us brush off all that dust and let us get back into the fight.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful, Holy Spirit-filled day.Goodbye

S8 Ep 41Hands Full
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Monday morning, the 23rd of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go to Zachariah 4:6, and the word of God says:”Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Then we go to the Gospel of John 15:5. Jesus says:“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” I read a little article and it really spoke to me. This is what it said, ”Hand full and the heart empty.” Be careful. Your hands are so full of doing good work for Jesus that your heart is empty. Jesus said for without Him, you and I (I’m talking to that young lady, that young man, that old pensioner), you and I can do nothing. Too much work, you forget the Master, and then everything just starts to slowly but surely disintegrate. You start making bad decisions, you start panicking, you do rash things that you would never normally do. Why? Because your hands are too full and your heart is too empty. But on the other hand, if the heart is full of God, then the hands cannot forget God. Folks, I know people who are working so hard doing the work of the Lord that they have forgotten the Lord of the work. You can’t do that because it’s all about Him anyway. What really upsets me a lot and it’s actually very sad, and it worries me, is when I see large Christian organisations that started with some man or woman or couple, or a small team that loved Jesus. They had regular quiet times every single morning before they started work and they went out and their vision, their work for the Lord, just blossomed like a beautiful rose opening up, and then it got so big and they got so busy that they forgot why they were doing it, and Jesus Christ is not even brought into the equation. They’ll go right through a meeting and right at the end, just to make it look respectable, they’ll bring up a scripture verse. That is not acceptable. It’s got to be the other way round. Spend time with God every morning, hear what He’s got to say. Ask Him to help you with your heart and then go out and you will have plenty of time to do your work and plenty of time to be with the Lord. We need to get it the right way round.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day. Goodbye.

S8 Ep 40Building for Eternity
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Sunday morning, the 22nd of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the first book of the Bible, Genesis 25:8 (Amplified Version) Then Abraham breathed his last and he died at a good old age, an old man who was satisfied [with life];…” Then we go to the Book of James 4:14:”…you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” Life is very short. Now I had the privilege of reading a beautiful little description by the Scottish preacher, Alexander Maclaren, who lived some time ago, and I want to read it because I think it’s very special. This life is only a scaffolding for the life to come, which is eternity. Now this is what he says. He says, ”Scaffoldings are for buildings, and the moments and the days and the years of our earthly lives are scaffolding. What are you building inside it? What kind of structure will be disclosed when the scaffolding is knocked away? Days and years are ours that they may give us what eternity cannot take away. What is that? A character built upon the love of God in Jesus Christ and moulded into His likeness. Has your life helped you to do that? If so, you have got the best out of it and your life is completed, whatever may be the number of its days.”Now this is very important. He says, ”Quality, not quantity, is the thing that determines the perfectness of a life. Has your life this completeness?” Beautiful reading! I want to say to you today that you need to have a good look and say to yourself, and I need to do the same - are we spending more time on the scaffolding than the building? Now the building is our nature, our character, our love for our fellow man and mostly for God, our patience, our endurance. Are we spending more time on the scaffolding - that’s going to fall away? The temporal things that we are building - building our empires, building our future in money and in reputation, or are we building a building that will stand and soon as we are finished building it the scaffolding will be taken away, and then we will die and we will go to Heaven, and the Lord Jesus Christ will meet us there.Spend more time building in eternity and less time building on earth.Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

S8 Ep 39Don't Contend
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Saturday morning, the 21st of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We go straight to Exodus 17:2: “Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” Then we go to Psalm 95:8: “Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,…” The Lord says, “Do not contend against Me, do not argue with Me, do not challenge Me.” Never, ever fight with God. He has never lost a fight.Folks, I really want to say to you today, don’t challenge God. Remember Job the farmer? After he had been arguing with God, the Lord said, “Stand up like a man and answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” Exactly! It is almost ludicrous to challenge God. I have heard some people thump the table. It scares me, “When I get to Heaven, God is going to answer some questions that I have got for Him.” Oh my dear friend, you have no idea Who you are even talking about! If you want to fight, fight with the devil, but never, ever challenge the King of Glory. You know, He is for you, He is not against you. If Christ is for you, no man will stand against you. Why are you arguing with the only One in the world that can help you? “Yes, but I asked God to do this but He didn’t do it,” and “I asked God to do that and it hasn’t come through.”I want to say something to you. He has never, ever let me down in over fifty years. It brings a tear to my eye when I hear people say, “God is going to answer some of my questions.” Don’t contend with the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Go to Him now, today, and repent and say, “I am sorry, Lord, I didn’t mean it. Please forgive me.” Do you know what happened to the Children of Israel, when they contended with God? Not one of them, except Joshua and Caleb, actually entered into the Land of Milk and Honey. They all perished in the desert. Only their children crossed over the Jordan. Do not do it today. I want to pray for you:Heavenly Father,I pray for my dear friend, that young girl, that young man who are contending, questioning Your authority, questioning Your love for them. Lord, please today, reassure them that You are in their corner, that You will stand up for them, and that they will have the victory if they have patience and serve You with all of their hearts. I ask this in Jesus’ name, amen.God bless you and have a wonderful day.Goodbye.

S8 Ep 38Sweetness
I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Friday morning, the 20th of March, 2026, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Jude 21: “…keep yourselves in the love of God,…” Then we go back to the Book of Romans 8:26: “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.”Remember, it is Christ in you, Christ in me, that is the hope of glory. It is not us, it is Christ in us. I read a beautiful little reading from an unknown writer, and this is what he says: ”Fruit ripened in the sun is the sweetest.” Isn’t that right? A lovely sweet apple, a beautiful sweet plum, is the sweetest when it is ripened naturally in the sun, not using a chemical ripener, but in the sun. Fruit ripened in the sun is the sweetest. Now, we don’t spell that Son, S-U-N. We are not talking about that sun. No, no - we are talking about the Son of God, Jesus, S-O-N and you can see it, can’t you? People who spend time in the presence of God are very sweet people. Why? Because God ripens them through His Son, Jesus. I want to encourage you to spend more time with the Lord. Try and get up a little bit earlier in the morning and sit there quietly and read the scriptures, listen to Christian music and most of all, pray, speak to the Lord, and He will give you that sweetness that nothing else in this world can give you.Take time out today to allow yourself to become sweet as the Son shines upon you and ripens you for His work in the Kingdom of God. Jesus bless you and have a wonderful, sweet day today.Goodbye.
